"Reassurances That Every Penny Will Be Reinvested In The TEAM."
biggs replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
so no chance he might make an exception this case then? say he knows he's gonna spend 20m of the 35m on transfer, why couldn't he just arrange the installments on the outgoing 20m to align with incomings on the 35m? why wouldn't he? in a sense it is "paid for upfront" it's just not coming out of his pocket or another pot of cash from elsewhere just 'cause they said something once doesn't mean it's legally binding Just think they want it neat and tidy like Sports Direct stores -

Never thought of it that way as when we buy players UP FRONT then that means the transfer fees will come out of our own pocket so it will be another loan from fatman or other income . -

The Club captain has no right to go on LFC website and do what he did. Its a f***ing disgrace and shows his paymasters a complete lack of respect. Tbh that is exactly what he has done and Nolan probably in the last few months has been closer to Carroll than anyone and will be privvy to things we dont know about ant that is why he has done it ,it is totally out of order and unprofessional of him to do the L.F.C website interview and either he is very niave or calculating your guess is as good as mine .Nolan for me for the most part has been a driving force for our club this season and showed great character througout a troubling time (Houghton) and he and the senior players have been great but now i wonder if the tide is turning after Pardews comments " Pardew is “worried” about Wednesday night’s visit to Fulham after admitting Carroll’s departure had sparked “disillusionment” throughout the training ground from masseur to top players. " .

Bloody hope not Yes he did. Heard it on the radio and seen it in print. I feel sorry for the players really. Just as they start to think the club is making progress, they as well as the fans get knocked back down to earth. Yet again they will have to resort to their mental strength and unity to push on. I wonder if this has damaged their relationship with Pardew. After insisting since he arrived that Carroll would not be sold and then saying he was involved in the decison to sell, how can the players trust what he says now. Hughton protected them - I think Pardew will end up alienating them. Nowt wrong with that quote IMO. He's just saying what we are all feeling, he'll probably assure the lads that it will be for the greater good come summer and that it is up to them now to prove themselves. Could have used a bit of word play tbh "dissilusionment" could be "down" 2 words with a totally different meaning but the message comes over to everyone with a more negative feeling about it .

Dont tell anyone but me a Wullie have a thing going but its a secret

Quinn,Goddard,Withe could all be in with the same bunch as the had a few years here and did a job as Carroll has basically come out of no where ,not saying they are better no way but tbh the thread title can be twisted as you see fit .

Agree that clubs will be in for him first who can offer better wages and does anybody really exp[ect him to come back when he was desperate to get away in the first place .

Pardew is “worried” about Wednesday night’s visit to Fulham after admitting Carroll’s departure had sparked “disillusionment” throughout the training ground from masseur to top players. Just what we didnt want to hear if these words are true,Pardews first mistake in interviews imho and what he should be saying is "we have a big game tonight and its our chance to move up the table and maybe put a bit of a run together and put a bit pressure on the teams above us and take away any nagging doubts we can get dragged lower down the table and have to look over our shoulders" Before he said this i thought we could muster a draw even a win but not now .

Not if you factor transfer fees, signing on fees and wages into the equation. that occurred to me, lets say carroll was on 40k a week (which i doubt) we now have to bring in say 4-5 players to cover his loss and build up the squad a bit to make this worthwhile if you bring in 4-5 players with a combined value of 35m on transfer fees alone the wages involved outwith that would probably have to be in excess of 100k a week combined doesn't quite work does it? so effectively we'd be looking at maybe 20m on players and 15m on their wages, or whatever balance you like to guesstimate in other words, we're not gonna get a lot for our 35m in terms of actual bodies on the pitch imho While i was typing -

Not if you factor transfer fees, signing on fees and wages into the equation. So can some one do the maths ,if we sign 3 players on £6 million each for example and include wages and fees on 5 yr deals what will be left of the £35 million with our wage structure . -
Will always love my club whatever happens in time hopefully soon Ashley will go fingers crossed.

Is Mike Ashley the worst person ever to have been associated with NUFC?

Yes well said, this is why this hurts a lot more than most outgoing transfers. Andy Cole for example was a tremendous talent but he had no real deep rooted loyalty for the club. We've been told though many times that Carroll was living his dream as a Geordie and loved the club. As I mentioned in another thread, its the lies that piss me off. It hurts more when it comes from a geordie

Its not the order of events I'm arguing with, its the events themselves. Anyone who reckons Carroll was made to put in a transfer request is a lunatic in my book (and that includes that horrible saggy faced contemptuous t*** on SSN). But to answer your questions. Obviously yes we've sold our best striker, no I'm not happy but I'm not as suicidal as some on here. All Newcastle fans deserve much better, from Andy Carroll. But as good a player as he is and as much as I supported him because he was a Newcastle player I've never been under the illusion that he's anything but a horrible big headed t*** in reality, so it doesn't surprise me that much. Where it puts Ashley's plan is actually totally in Ashley's hands, he can do alot with that money if its spent on the right players. £35m spent on 4 quality players would put us in a much better position then we were with Carroll in the side and no new players. I actually do believe we can progress, but the key will be the summer. The club should no longer be losing big money and we've received £35m for Carroll, so I expect major moves in the summer. Without them I'll lose any belief in Ashley. Doubt we'll receive £35 million all in one lump, like. Thats what pisses me off tbh ,we pay up front and no string hanging down and yet players leave us and that 35 million will be paid in installments for about 20 yrs ,ffs Ashley thats how football works and you are probably the only owner who works in this way .

Horrible end product. Not a touch of quality. Do you reckon Formica will be on the bench this weekend? No it will be piece of carpet
