Not worthy of a thread - 2018 FIFA World Cup edition
biggs replied to OzzieMandias's topic in Football
Fuckin madness what is F.I.F.A trying to do to the beautiful game FIFA president Sepp Blatter expects the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to be held in the winter to avoid the searing heat in the region in the summer. Qatar won the right to host football's global showpiece last month despite temperatures in the Gulf emirate reaching 40 degrees Celsius in June and July when the tournament is traditionally staged. Blatter went on record Friday to say that a switch to winter would make more sense, citing health concerns for players. "I expect it to be in the winter because when you play football you must protect the main people, the players," he told gathered reporters in the Qatari capital Doha ahead of the Asian Cup, which starts later Friday. I expect it to be in the winter because when you play football you must protect the main people, the players "We will take it up at our executive committee meeting in March," he added. German legend Franz Beckenbauer, a FIFA executive committee member, first raised the prospect of a winter World Cup in January and Michel Platini, the president of UEFA, the European governing body, is also believed to support the idea. But it would have serious implications for the major domestic leagues in Europe which would be in full swing during this period. Qatar's bid promised to provide air-conditioned stadiums and training grounds to combat the intense heat, but doubts have been raised this would fully address the issue, particularly for supporters. Blatter said Qatar organizers would have to approach FIFA about any change of dates. "If they have any wishes on whether they want to change the basic conditions prevailing at the bidding process, then they have to make this demand of the FIFA Executive Committee," he said. "The Executive Committee is free to change anything," he added. "If there really is a will to change dates then we have enough time to do it because we still have 11 years to go." Blatter has defended the decisions to award the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to Russia and Qatar, saying football had to break into new territories. -

Loving this just loving this the art of falling apart
-
Think the real issue apart from a manager obviously out of his depth is that the team is really full of average players and the 2/3 good ones have given up/want out. Worst Liverpool team in a long time ,skint and need a new ground, dissilusioned fans
-
start off in style why dont you
-
Well done boys a good execution at home and against a shit team wtf has got into you lot we are supposed to lose this type of game but before the kick off a few of us said how shit West Ham where and they proved us right .

It's called being a bit realistic. Would love for him to suddenly blossom. Can't see it happening really. Think he'll be solid. He is good enough to at least do what Shola does in general. As far as being a goal threat? Well, we'll find out. He hasn't really played much at all so let's hope he surprises us. How many times have you seen Leon Best play? Enough to know he is at least good enough to do what Shola does in general play, as it isn't very hard i.e. foul the opposition centrebacks every now and then, get a bunch of offsides, lose the ball carelessly when he isn't under much pressure sometimes, win a few headers, link play well sometimes, miss a few sitters. However, can he pop up with the odd goal at this level like Shola does? That is the key question. How many times? Enough to know times. It's a simple enough question. I wasn't filling in a log book! I just know he isn't a complete donkey. His general play is okay. I remember that much even from his few appearances last season. Had a couple of nice assists for Carroll last year. I could easily ask how many times those writing him off have seen him play, and it would be the same answer. Some are hopeful and some aren't. Stop internet bullying me! OMG Dave gonna get banned for bullying

Had an argument with a couple of dickheads in the pub on sunday about this and they just slagged me off when i said when have you seen Ranger start a game on a regular basis or see him come on when we are winning and they disappeared back into there holes, imho he gets used as impact or nowt else .
-
FFS 7 million for a guy his age
-
He really is trying to prove a point to Ranger like. What was the point in a 5 1/2 year deal then If we win it's a great decision, lose and he'll be criticised. Brave choice nonetheless. Could be the kick up the arse Ranger needs to pull his socks up if he's being overlooked with two strikers out injured. Has Ranger been a naughty boy recently too justify not being first choice striker.

Heard all the bullshit on TalkShite myself earlier on it just makes you laugh when people come out with so much shit when they are probably at home as they listen
