Back training on grass. Finally some positive injury news.
-
From what I've seen of them, they look awful. The goals they conceded against Wolves were shocking and naive. Gary O'Neil did a super job keeping them up last year. They'd be certs for relegation if it wasn't for the 3 promoted sides. They aren't the side that came to SJP and looked well organised.
-
I'd love to see Joelinton start in the 6 he did against Man U. Him, Willock and Longstaff will out run any midfield, so I've no worries there.
-
Let's call a spade a spade here, they are shite and provided Wilson makes it, we've got a strong 11 on the pitch and should be beating them. I'd go even further in saying that Livramento gives us an attacking threat from LB that Burn doesn't, so theoretically we could be BETTER in that regard. We are missing Bruno but we were missing him against Man United and were class. Defend properly and take our chances.

Phillips is a no brainer for me. He fits Eddie's style, where as he's not the technical player Pep likes. He can also play 6 or 8, which is the versatility we look for. Give him a few weeks at Newcastle and he'd be an absolute asset to us.
-
If he's on 300k, we won't be signing him.
-
It's a red card like but I agree it probably wasn't intentional. It's however part of Man Uniteds DNA now that they try and shoot themselves in the foot. Feels like every game is either a red card, hand ball or a goalkeeper howler.
-
It's Bournemouth... Wilson will play.
-
We had to get our outgoing ASM sale ratified. Not sure it works the other way. Regardless, we can find a deal if we want one.
-
If we want Neves, we will just sign him permanently. 40m is fair market value.
-
Pope Trippier Lascelles Schar Tino Joelinton Longstaff Willock Miggy Gordon Wilson If Wilson is out, then Miley/Hall come in and we have a switcharound. I don't think this team can take one more injury. It's too soon for Isak to be risked IMO.
-
But then you have Trippier at LB constantly putting us in trouble.
-
I've hardly seen much criticism at all to be fair. Actually it's been one of the more reasoned post match loss threads.
-
Give him a break so England can benefit? Seems pointless.
-
No where near as bad on the right. On the left he didn't have a clue where to pass.
-
Aye, if I were Howe I'd pull him out of international duty or at the very least the second game.
-
Thanks for this thread. Oh sweet PL.
-
Trippier was shocking at LB today. I never want to see that again.
-
Pleased to see some level heads in here. The guys clearly knackered, if not physically, mentally. Before Wolves he was in the form of his life. Needs more rest where possible. We also have Krafth back, who can be used when we are already ahead in games.
-
He actually looks class at both ends. I really don't see a weakness in his game.
-
I think the lesson to learn is that in the CL we need to be harder to beat. If I were Howe, I'd look for a old school DM for these games and play Bruno further forward. Obviously that's if or when we qualify again. Remember Fergie regularly binned his 442 in the CL and stuck in someone like Park or Darren Fletcher to give them more solidity. We couldn't afford to concede first.
-
Just to be absolutely clear, anyone wanting Tino to play RB over Trippier for anything other than freshness reasons, wants their heads checked. Trippier has been one of the best right backs in the world for like 3 seasons now and up until recently was in the form of his life. Tino can slot in at left back and I'm sure he will excel there during Burns absence and make the position his own but let's not create a problem that doesn't exist.
-
Trippier can't play left back. That's clear now.
-
Proud regardless.
