We've got chronic injuries but can still field: Pope Trippier Lascelles Schar Burn Bruno Longstaff Joelinton Miggy Gordon Wilson Also have Willock coming back and a huge opportunity for the likes of Hall, Livramento, Targett and Co to come off the bench and make a real difference. I'd actually start Targett for this. I thought he looked in good shape when he came in. Save Burn for Man United.

Can train = win. As long as we get THE Sandro Tonali when he returns.

There's no doubt that we COULD IMO, I don't believe this tosh about FFP. It's a rolling thing, so it depends how much we want for future windows. Age old stick or twist, ultimately it will come down to who is available. I just can't see a window where we don't sign someone.
-
I'm still shaking my head in disbelief. When a few where doubting the signing, I was saying to give him time but if I'm completely honest, I understood why people didn't see it. He looked sluggish, like he couldn't finish, like he wasn't working as hard as he could.... What a fucking transformation. He's absolutely class. 22 years old right? And he was our best player yesterday by some distance, in the CL. Worth every penny.

I'm fine with the transfer window, we needed a squad and it was right we thought about the future, even if it affected the present slightly. However, I'd really like us to remember what brought about our transformation, namely the signings of Trippier, Burn, Bruno and Targett, who all had years of experience. Barnes was the oldest player we bought in the summer and he isn't exactly the leadership/experienced type. I'm not advocating signing 30+ers, but I'd love us to look at Trippier types who've been there and done it in the big games. I always look at Casemiro and his affect on Man United in the Carabao Cup final for example. Look at City signing Kovacic or Arsenal signing Jorginho. This is where I'd be looking.

I just thought Gordon was outstanding. Can't look past that this morning..

A striker please. With one of Isak/Wilson constantly injured, it would be nice to have something from the bench.
-
I would have suggested Wilson and Isak . A don't see a way back.
-
Said time and time again that Joelinton hasn't had a good game for us this season. Was shocking against Brighton and then had his injury. He's not competing the way he used to. Of course it will come back, but we are a man down.
-
Trippier has been naive. Just defend at times man.
-
His form has been fantastic for club and Country recently. I'm saying I want him but I do see why he was wanted.

Anybody else think McTominay wasn't the worst shout after all.

Not sure what this gif means -
That's why I said cover, as opposed to play.
-
Not when you are a big boy like us. Saudi Airlines is just our Airlines partner.
-
I'd be surprised if the Italian FA aren't being put under pressure.
-
There's no way he plays tommorow IMO. UEFA won't have it.

First Post back after ban. Would like to apologise to @aa5773for my posts on Sunday afternoon. It was unprovoked and intolerant of me. As for the accusations of being racist and/or Islamophobic, i certainly refute that, I have a dislike of all religions and their affect on society, however in most cases I manage to separate religion from religious people, of whom I have no general hatred towards. On this occasion I let myself down and made someone feel unwelcome, which isn't right. As far as the person who wanted me to be banned for life for this forum.. I've been on here 19 years and this is the first time I've been in trouble, I'd like think I've contributed way more good than bad. What happened to hearing someone out, giving people second chances, or even asking why I was speaking out of character? No it must be an absolute punishment? how very religious. He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. -
Bowen and Paqueta currently playing in wide positions. Then it's whether you want to change formation or move Paqueta in the middle which hadn't worked.
-
Aye fair point. The rest still stands.

No issue with Saudis as a people, not their fault where they were born.

I honestly can't fathom why anyone would go looking for people talking shit about their own club. All clubs hate all other clubs and they will use whatever flimsy reason to facilitate their hatred.

Reminder that you need on average to get 71 points for top 4, that's 1.86 points per game, we are currently on 1.77 but have played: Man City away- toughest fixture in the league... As well as Liverpool (h), Brighton (a) and Villa (h), which you would expect other sides around us to struggle with. I'd say we are very much where we should be, you could argue its been better than expected given the tough start. Also, early indications are that we are likely to get a fairly healthy goal difference, which might be as good as an extra point come week 38. Can someone confirm that top 5 is CL? I can't remember what the crack is with that.

Let's make them shit themselves.
