  1. You see for me, it's got nothing to with whether someone questions the owners (even though I find that bizarre), it's more the idea that someone on a football forum has the arrogance to think they know better than a combination of Dan Ashworth, Eddie Howe, Steve Nickson and our whole board. Now, just to be clear, when you or anyone else was questioning Charnley or Ashley's approach it was entirely justified, because they had a track record of making all kinds of mistakes. Dan Ashworth in particular has a track record of making very good deals and more importantly knowing this game inside and out. The idea that these people haven't already thought over their strategy or the idea that there's someone on here who could teach them a thing or two is pure horseshit.
  2. The first bid wasn't accepted because it was too low, some might say deliberately too low. The second bid wasn't accepted because we raised our offer for the second bid, so why wouldn't you get the buying club to up the bid again? As I said yesterday, this is where it gets interesting. It will either fall flat on its arse or Leicester will give us some encouragement. The most important thing right now is the player. Maddison at this point needs to put pressure on the club to come to an agreement. He should hand in a transfer request if necessary. That puts Leicester in a corner somewhat. Ashworth and Co will have thought this through. They won't pay 60m for him but then Leicester know that. We might reach 55m with clauses and that would be enough IMO.
  3. They were always going to reject this second bid, as they know we will edge higher. The next bid will be the crucial one, because at that point it will be take it or leave. It's right about now where Maddison needs to inform the club of his desire to leave.
  4. I think we will get him but it might take a couple of weeks. I just hope we don't back out over less than 10m.
  5. There were more who were saying he was fine for wanting to join Milan.
  6. Again just mothballing but let's say we think 50m is right on the edge of what we are willing to pay, we might allow a player to leave in order to replenish our funds. It's all pie in the sky but there's always a knock on effect.
  7. BTW, Rodgers comments aren't suggestive of a manager who is in sync with his superiors. It has all the makings of a manager on the brink.
  8. If we signed Maddison for 50m, would you let Willock go if say a Brighton or a Palace came in for 15/20m? I'm not saying we would need to, I'm just throwing it out there.
  9. Just for the cunts on FoxesTalk: Pope Trippier Schar Botman Targett Bruno Joelinton Maddison Almiron ASM Wilson In a sell out 52k atmosphere without a fucking clapper in sight.
  10. Seeing Newcastle bidding 50m for a player along the yellow ticker on SSN is surreal.
  11. Also the disparity on the fee isn't down to structuring but more down to the likelihood the fee has performance related clauses in it. It might well go above 50m, if we get in the champions league or Maddison plays 40 games for us or any other number of variables.
  12. Fair point, he's also a better player though.
  13. There's all kinds of pressure on Leicester to sell IMO.
  14. They are mental man. Comparable to Sterling and Phillips, who both went for 45m and only has 2 years left on his contract and Leicester clearly need funds.
  15. Tell you something else mind, it's very interesting that it wasn't rejected out of hand, like the first bid. Tells me that they are seriously considering it.
  16. Lads, I say this quietly but I think he's ours. Don't worry if it gets rejected, I think we will come to an agreement very soon and don't worry about personal terms, clubs don't bid without the nod from the player. I suspect we've asked permission from PIF to go big on this one, as he is a game changer both literally and figuratively.
  17. Yeah 45m can't be far off. Reckon 48m and we are in business.
  18. Leicester are in for a bad season, for whatever reason they have made an error financially and its going to cost them a drop down the league and probably their manager. They are a pretty well run club, so they will bounce back. The point is that to a player like Maddison, he's not going to want to hang around while they rebuild. The point about having the same agent as Wood and Trippier is an excellent one on the previous page. I've said for ages that agents and their relations run the transfer window. I wonder if they came to us about their client. We probably didn't even know it was doable. Biggest compliment I can give Maddison is that if he joined City or Liverpool, I wouldn't bat an eyelid. I wanted Phillips at the start of the window but that's only because I thought Leeds were vulnerable. Maddison is every bit as exciting.
