  1. I don't think he would have that much affection for Bolton tbh, he's a scouser lad. If we put the money on the table bolton wouldn't have much choice. Cahill i hate and would be very hard to prise away from Scouse blue.

    Players in public

Nobby passing under the chinese arch thing a couple of mondays ago. I nearly bumped into andy o'briens nose a couple of years ago in northumberland street. I work in tescos hexham and i've seen Micheal Bridges, Harmison, Cram and Jony wilkinson every other week.
  3. 6m for Joey Barton, that would sort out our midfield. Sidwell Barton Milner Duff Other options such as Cahill or Nolan.

    Eriksson For Toon

Erikkson is good manager and would get a better overall performance out of our players therefore a better league position. He's not as good as the likes of Mourinho, wenger and fergi but probably in the same bracket as O'Neil.

    Team V Pompey ??

Harper Nobby Taylor Gooch Carr Butt Emre Milner Duff Martins Sibers
  6. Ronaldo is quality but establishing himself as the best ever is a long long way off. It would be fair to say that he has more potential/quality than anyone in a very long time but the best ever? erm.... not quite. Are we forgetting some of the greats that have played on this planet and Ronaldo has had one good season. List still is as follows for me: 1.Pele 2.Maradona 3.Zidane 4.Henry 5.Ronaldinho There is noone that has breached in this bracket. In my opinion Ronaldo will some day.

    Next Season

4-5-1 does not work for teams unless their manager has a brain. Lets stick to 4-4-2, man utd have proved it can still be a success. The only time i'd like to see that used is if we are away from home against good teams. So without further ado: Butt Emre Milner Duff Martins Owen
  8. Given- 7 One shot one save. Nobby-7 Fantastic distribution and defending Gooch-7 A bit shakey at times but a collosus in the air and di not let us down. Taylor-8 Fast becoming one of the best. Carr-7 Solid, can't fault the guy at left back Milner-7 Fantastic effort provided our best attacks. Butt-9 Awesome, won everything Emre-7 Looks far better balanced with Butt, good effort. Duff- 7 Looked alot better than recently, put his foot in. Dyer-6 Poor Martins-6 Bit better than Dyer still poor. Harper-7 Zoggy-6.5

    Sidwell In - Butt Out?

We should keep butt but sidwell is a good player in my opinion.
  10. He's the best english manager. Sadly, the standard of english managers is terrible. I agree with most of what people have said that he is way better than what we have got but i'm not a better than what we have got person so no. That doesn't mean that i think we can realistically attract anyone better.
  11. Must be attempting to get his money back from the world cup. My mind is split, i agree with the sentiment that it's not what we need at the moment but would love to hear the atmosphere in the place.
  12. Souness: Am not interested in how the chicken gets across the road. It's time to see how much of a man the chicken is.

    Current starting eleven

Dyer LW? Aye, for me Dyer doesn't have enough steel to play in centre mid and would need a bullying striker to play alongside up front which Martins isn't. Duffs being playing average IMO so i'd move Dyer to the left where i'm convinced his pace would cause problems and his energy would act as cover. The rest has picked itself on performances.

    Current starting eleven

Given Solano Gooch Taylor Edgar Butt Emre Milner Dyer Sibers Martins Based on performances. Only possible change would be Moore for Gooch.
  15. We will get that straight back off the Owen compo.

    Bramble or Gooch

Bramble has never been able to play football. He's average, average, average. What makes it worse is that he is prone to errors and quite a few injuries. Still haven't see enough of Gooch to get a reasonable impression but seems to pretty solid in the air in particular (thats no suprise).
  17. Same as all the players that supported Souness eh? If a journo asks a player what do you think of the manager do you expect them to say "aye, he's a bit shit like". Roeder's a nice bloke, of course they are going to say they like him. They dont want a good manager coming in and making them work. and how you can critise fergi as a manager is beyond me.
  18. or more likely he's talking out of his arse.
  19. The success of a manager is all down to how much belief the players have in their managers ability. Look at Chelsea and Man U in particular, they all walk around with an arrogance that says they believe in their manager and more importantly because of it they believe in themselves. Roeder is a decent manager, no more, no less. I believe the reason for Keanes success is because of that almost cockyness he has, he knows hes good. Where as Roeder doesn't possess a shread of this quality... sadly. On the other hand Shearer is a man all about self confidence. He asks you to do something and you do it. It is for that reason that i believe he will be a tremendous manager, so long as he knows stuff on tactics and general management.

    Shay Given

Most under-rated keeper ever tbh. My only beef with him is that his kicking is his most inconsistent part of his game. I get annoyed when people harp on about Cech, it's alot easier being a great keep behind chelseas back four. He is fantastic but lets not go overboard. Given is the better shot stopper IMHO.

    Duff

Agreed, add the fact we aren't half the passing side chelsea can be. I think with the likes of Dyer, emre, solano moving and creating space he'd shine. All just theories though.
  22. Roeder is a good bloke, an average manager, had done a good job but will never be major success at this club. We are more likely to see the benifits of his reign after he has gone.
  23. Think it's highly unfair to single out milner. Despite his lack of pace he's one of the only members of our squad prepared to try and beat players. Agree with the sentiment though, absolutley infuriating and ineffective unless your bolton.
  24. STM

    Duff

The one thing Duff has been done since hes come to the club is try hard, he's just been lacking alot of confidence and fitness. I'm not sure he will turn it round though.
  25. In fairness to Ramage he my not be a world beater but he has given more to the club than Bramble, Baba and carr. I dont think he will ever be a great player but he gives decent performances and is versitile. ok,ok he's gash.
