  1. Maybe a DoF won't be coming in. Could be Tim Sherwood getting a promotion.
  2. Sounds like Levy has settled on AVB with a DoF coming in. Putting lot of faith in Mourinho's recommendation, spoke to JM for the best part of 2 hours, almost as long as AVB. At least JM sent Levy a message of condolence on his mother's death, all he got from Redknapp was a bleat saying we'll be relegation candidates if you don't give me a new contract and a payrise.
  3. The new £45m training complex that was handed over by the builders this month, plus the new stadium development, work on which starts after the Olympics, are more statements of intent than the appointment of a new manager tbh. Well not really The choice of manager has far more impact on the future of your club than a new stadium. Showing the plans of the new 60k seater where we'll be playing in 2015/16 season and a tour of the new training facility has proved helpful by all accounts. Oh, you ambiguously sexy b******, you. Tell us who it's been shown to, to be helpful! When AVB was pictured at Manchester Airport, the explanation was that he was buying a custom built car. Quite plausible but I don't think that needed him to be accompanied by Carlos Gonçalves. http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g459/hernanes3/AvYhpKoCIAAKm_S.jpg AvB talks to Spurs, but flies to Manchester? You'll have Moyes or Martinez and you'll be f***ing glad of it. Suppose I would be happy to have Martinez or Moyes, I said before they are my two preferred picks .................... My concern is over a possible DoF appointment, neither Martinez or Moyes would accept that.
  4. BTW, Levy had a couple of meetings with Txiki Begiristain earlier this month. Seems like we are going down the DoF route again. Good news ........so long as the DoF and Head Coach are singing from the same hymnsheet ..................

  8. I don't find it hilarious, just belated, he should have gone on the last day of the season when Levy and Redknapp had their blazing row. Redknapp had no interest in Spurs from the day of his acquittal, the same day as Capello went, to the appointment of Hodgson as the England manager. He didn't want a new contract before Hodgson got the job because he knew the compensation clauses could put the cost of signing him beyond the reach of the FA. Taking the eye off the ball doesn't even begin to describe what was going on. Still, better late than never, all good things come to those who wait and all that. Who do you want to replace him Jol? Give me your top four realistic candidates ranked from favourtite to least favourite. I want a manager who would be loyal and hardworking to go with ability, things that Redknapp lacked. If he had worked as hard looking after Spurs as promoting himself Harry would probably still be the manager now. Levy admires Klopp but I don't think there's a cat in hell's chance of getting him. Mourinho (who is good friends with Levy) has recommended AVB, don't know how either Moyes or Martinez would get on with better players and more money to spend, the dark horse could be Benitez, Levy used to get on well with him. I'd be surprised if the new man came from outside those. Who would I want? Tough choice, not a great style but a safe pair of hands with Moyes, or playing with style with Martinez and hope he can handle it? If he can, and that's a big gamble, Martinez could be the answer, if not, Moyes. But as I like a gamble, Martinez ............ Moyes ............ Benitez ............ AVB Interesting .. you've certainlk=y got the players for Martinez to mould into an excellent side to watch. To be honest I quite like Evertons style. They played us off the park last game of the season with some wonderful football. I think the thing with Moyes that Levy likes is being shrewd in the transfer market and his ability to get the best out of players. Pienaar was a bargain at £2.5m, Redknapp hardly played him and practically destroyed him, he goes back to Everton and Moyes gets the best out of him again in weeks. There is an element of risk with both Moyes and Martinez (as there was with Rodgers at Liverpool), I don't think there is one manager who is a candidate clear of the rest.
  9. I stuck with managers who I think are realistic as you asked

  12. I think it's good news as well
  13. Both on long contracts. They will go if Levy says they can go, just as he did with Modric before.
  14. No matter what you think of the c***, they were near bottom when he took over (Or were they bottom?) and he got them into the champions league positions 2 out of last 3 seasons, what more do they want Redknapp washed his hands with Spurs when he thought he had the England job. Jordan, Bond and Sherwood took all of the training sessions, Redknapp had gone missing.
  15. Being said that Harry has been told today, package not yet finalised and Martinez is the preferred option. May be complete b*ll*cks but somehow I don't think so. Shame Harry isn't on the BBC panel tonight.
  16. Vorm's name has been bandied about more recently, Krul would be a lot more expensive and Friedel has one more year on his contract. What's situation with your other GK's? Alnwick's gone ......... thank God Cudicini is still about, Gomes is out of contract, Friedel has one more year. There have been a number of names put up as potentials but all I've heard about Krul is that he would be very expensive and probably not that keen to move anyway. Krul to Spurs is wishful thing and will never happen .............. imho. Where's Alnwick gone to? Used to play for Prudhoe with me back in the day. Out of contract, don't know if he's got another club. Spur have completed the signing of Jamaal Lascelles from Forest. Being loaned back for next season.

  19. The meeting is still going on apparently, so I doubt that he's gone yet. I do think Redknapp does have to go now though. He'd take any job in a flash if he liked the money being offered, if it isn't sorted out now it'll rear it's head again some time soon in the future.
  20. Big meeting at WHL today, Levy, Harry, agent and Solicitors. Could be the time for the fond farewell, I wouldn't be at all surprised. What with the rumours with Enic possibly selling to the Kharafi family, it's not exactly dull being a Spurs fan.
  21. He's already got iconic status at Newcastle, we wouldn't want to change that!!
  22. I think AVB has been seriously damaged by Chelsea to get another job in the PL in the short term though I don't think AVB helped himself when he told the players to include him in any goal celebrations. That said, Mourinho recommended AVB ahead of Rodgers to Levy 2 or 3 months ago when Redknapp seemed to be on his way to the UAE. What Spurs haven't got is the egos of Lampard, Terry, Cole etc which might give AVB more of a fighting chance, but I'm not so certain that Levy will get shot of Redknapp now as I was a couple of months ago.
  23. I don't think Redknapp will be gone before we've completed our signings. This is what I said in this thread back on 22 May............. Modric will go imho. Not convinced that Redknapp will still be there to spend the money. Levy totally blames Redknapp for not getting 3rd when it was there for the taking. Probably the majority of Spurs on the forums now want Redknapp gone and AVB's name is the one being thrown about the most likely replacement, but the more it goes on, the more I think we'll be stuck with him come the start of the season
  24. Redknapp doesn't buy any players under 30 unless they're goalkeepers, in which case the minimum age is 40
