Edit: Sounds like we have now been given the nod for the 4 listed buildings next to WHL to be demolished. Just getting better and better ...............

He wants game time to keep his place in the Croatian squad for the Euros. Can't blame him tbh. Adam Smith has been recalled from MK Dons for the time being but seems like he will be loaned out to Leeds. Playing at a higher level will do him good, he's got the ability to establish himself in the PL in time, shame he's got Walker ahead of him.
-
Spurs have loaned out 2 of their youngsters and Bostock for the rest of the season Tom Carroll to Derby John Bostock to Sheffield Wednesday Kudus Oyenuga to St Johnstone............................... subject to international clearance!
-
That's what Spurs have done. We have players loaned out to non-league (Bishops Stortford), Premier League (Swansea and Norwich) and all leagues in between and abroad as well. The Reserve League is simply a waste of time and does nothing to help a player's development

Spurs' strategy of scrapping the reserve team and loaning out the promising youngsters seems to be working well. Walker last season, Caulker this. Neither would have been anywhere in contention staying at Spurs and playing in the reserves. This is the Mirror article but it's in the Mail as well. England rushing to beat Scots to Caulker Published 22:30 18/01/12 By Alan Nixon Fabio Capello is ready to pick Steven Caulker in his full England squad – to keep him out of Scotland’s clutches. The England boss is a big fan of the Swansea defender, who is on loan from Tottenham, and watched him against Arsenal at the weekend ahead of a call-up to face Holland next month. Caulker, 20, has played for England at Youth and Under-21 level, but because he has a Scottish grandmother is also eligible for Craig Levein’s Tartan Army. England are keen to promote Caulker, who is seen as a future Spurs star, to the senior squad as soon as possible. Caulker does not have to choose between the two nations until he is 21 and even playing in a friendly will not change this. But if England can get him involved at the top level it will be a major step in winning the battle for his allegiance. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/England-rushing-to-cap-Steven-Caulker-Swanseas-on-loan-Spurs-defender-as-he-also-qualifies-for-Scotland-article855201.html

It would be nice to think that (well, for me it is) but it won't happen this window with Friedal in form and almost as unlikely any window after. The fee might be around the right amount but I can't imagine Pardew selling someone who is on a long contract he wants to keep.
-
I hope he stays where he is. Athletic are starting to get something cool going and it would be a massive loss for them. His contract situation makes me fear the worst, though. Levy was keen to sign Llorente, Spurs had received great scouting reviews, but Redknapp was and still is sceptical whether he can cut it in the PL. If you could have a word in Levy's ear and tell him Harry is clueless when it comes to buying strikers I'd appreciate it
-
Can't argue with that. Newcastle identify a need, identify a player, sign said player, move on. By contrast Harry goes to France saying he's going to look at Loic Remy, just as he did over 2 years ago. Obviously hasn't made his mind up yet. That said, we have got 2 more young Croatian players, a young Slovenian plus a 17 yr old keeper from Stockport County all on trial. The transfer strategy I spoke about a couple of days ago seems to be flourishing.
-
Looks like more of a reference of him going back to Paris for a few days (he's from there). why would we let him do that though with the City game on sunday? Probably not a few days then, he's probably going for a day or two. Maybe the players have been given a day off? You're right. All the players been given 2 days off.

3 years ago today Spurs were bottom of the league. It seems much longer ago than that

Nice to see Sky choosing once again who not to ruin... Not surprising. Sky have a complimentary box at the Emirates apparently ................

From what I've seen of him (which isn't a lot tbh), he looks a decent prospect but he's far from the finished article. Spurs have been signing up a lot of foreign youngsters recently. The feeling is getting the kids from Europe is far cheaper than signing them from Championship/League 1 clubs. Sign them up, loan them out to lower divisions and see how they fare. Develop well like Walker last season or Caulker this and we have first team squad players produced. If they don't come up to scratch we have saleable players, win-win situation for Levy. At the last count, we have 14 of the younger players out on loan and there are a fair few clubs wanting Coulibaly, Ceballos, Carroll, Gomelt and Veljkovic amongst others. The new Training Centre, which is costing around £35m and will be completed next year, has had a lot to do with the change of philosophy. For the first time in ages, we're competing for and getting youngsters that Arsenal have been wanting, the future is looking bright.
-
I thought they had him already? Iago Falque? Was on a season long loan, taken up the option to buy. The Spurs Official site always says it's Yago, everyone else seems to call him Iago.
-
For £1m rising to £2m I think Everton have got a good deal. If he can get regular playing time I think he can develop into a very decent player.
-
Spurs turn down QPR bid for Pienaar. Don't think he will be going anywhere this window even if QPR upped their bid.
-
Funny enough, there's a fair few fans who would like ENIC to sell up, I'm not one. Levy has kept a tight rein on the finances which has at times been frustrating, but Levy won't pay what he perceives to be over the odds and would rather keep a player than sell him on the cheap. He can't get it right every time, no one does that, but the fans know that if the right players become available at the right price, the money is there, in spite of having bought up half the property in Tottenham over the past few years in readiness for building a new stadium.
-
Ferguson doesn't sound as though he wants Morrison to go. Said at the press conference today his agent is trying to get him out of the club, and that currently the players demands for a new contract are unreasonable.
-
By all accounts he is that talented. But it's not the talent that's the problem, it's everything else that comes with the talent.
-
Can't really argue with any of that but we'll see on 22nd Jan when Defoe will be leading the line against City at the Etihad. I'll be surprised if Pav hasn't gone this window and is replaced by either Leandro or Remy. A CB is the other priority, looks like Cahill will go to Chelsea and Harry prefers Samba to Vertonghen. Surprising tbh.
-
So far so good. Regularly in the goals, got another 2 for the Academy side away to MK Dons at the weekend and has been in the Progressive Squad (the reserves) a few times as well. Drogba has also taken him under his wing, watched him a couple of times and took him to Ghana a month or so ago when Coulibaly got the African Young Player of the Year Award

OptaJoe on Twitter : 99 - Jake Livermore completed 99% of his passes in tonight's game and won all of the tackles he attempted. Admirable. Must admit I was worried missing both Parker and Sandro but he was superb tonight . Still don't think he will turn out to be top notch but as a squad player available as 3rd choice DMF we couldn't hope for better. A lot of talk at WHL tonight that we are trying for Ganso and made a final bid for Leandro. I hope Samba is on the shopping list as well. We could go close with a striker, CH and backup for Bale and Lennon (Hoilett)........ fingers crossed!

............. so far this season? A few to choose from. Kieron Dyer to QPR was always going to be a certainty so doesn't count but what about..... 1. Nasri, 25mil and 170k a week and has looked cack. 2. Mertesacker, 10mil, made a lot of mistakes, some of which have led to goals, lets hope Wenger sticks with him all season. 3. Downing, 20mil. Not got a premier league assist or goal yet for the scousers, and there was the stat the other day showing something like 37 of his 38 passes in the final third of the game v City were backwards. 4. David De Gea £18m looking like an awful lot of money. 5. Pienaar Inspired signing by Redknapp Nasri for me.
-
If that is the case then there's nothing to worry about. If not however then all we can hope is Demba is happy with life here and wants to see how far he can take us. This also depends on the owners current ambition, so signing a striker to compliment him should be top of the priority list. However I feel Ashley will see this as an ideal situation for a bidding war between clubs and see how much he can get for a free transfer. Wouldn't be surprised if he put Redknapp upto this in the first place. Can't see how Ashley can start a bidding war tbh, there must be half a dozen clubs who are willing to pay the £5m release fee or whatever it is. The only issue is which club will offer Ba the best personal terms. A new contract offer from Newcastle may well keep him, maybe someone else will sign him. Personally, I think he will wind up with Liverpool because of the likeliest contenders they will offer him the most.

Spurs have signed Aussie/Italian Giancarlo Gallifuoco. No announcement from the club but it's on Twitter. Was wanted by Lazio and Chievo apparently. http://lazioland.com/NewsProfile.htm?NewsId=178

The general consensus on a Spurs forum is all the PL clubs knew about the clause been told by his agent (Mulders Advocaten who have no other players in the PL) and they have been trying to bump up Ba's salary package. Can't blame them for trying to get the best they can for their client. I hate Harry always shooting his mouth off about other club's players, we didn't like it when Chelsea were after Modric, but this seems to be more about telling the agents we all know the situation.
