    Can we beat Spurs?

Unfortunately, so are we. And King missed this fixture last season, and he makes a huge difference to Spurs' back line and to Dawson, and although they're missing Robbie Keane I still worry, especially given our performance yesterday. Also whilst we have Chelsea in midweek they host the mighty Southend, so that might be a factor.

    George Boyd

Martins scored twice Boyd scored 4 times, that makes him twice as good, Martins was £10 million and so Boyd must be £20 million, plus he's English and a midfielder so double that, £40 million.
  3. Can you remember the last time he played twice in a week let alone 3 times in a week?
  4. Yes but if he plays on Wednesday will he play on Saturday?
  5. For me, as much as I love Sibi for what he's done since coming here, playing him today played into Watford's hands. Shittu beasted him in the air time and time again. Martins and Dyer up front would have meant we played it on the deck (in theory) and we would have had loads more chance of beating their defence with pace instead of flick ons, especially when Martins can't read flick ons at all. Still, shouldn't really complain at Roeder playing all 3, but surely 4-4-2 from the start would have been better, Milner on the left Dyer on the right and then if we needed to change it then we could have, instead we got that clusterfuck of a performance. Fuck knows what we'll put out against Chelsea...can't see Dyer playing 2 games in a week and I want him to play Spurs next Saturday but I also really want to go far in the Carling Cup. So who knows what we'll play, and for that matter who knows what Chelsea will play.
  6. What's the name of the tune they played just after that? :winking:
  7. But 20/21 of February are Tuesday and Wednesday mate. And what days come between Sunday and Friday? I'll start you off. Monday...
  8. From the BBC preview: Newcastle (from): Given, Srnicek, Taylor, Ramage, Huntington, Babayaro, Parker, Butt, Emre, Milner, Duff, Pattison, Troisi, Gate, Edgar, Martins, Dyer, Sibierski, Luque, Rossi, Carroll. Watford (from): Lee, Chamberlain, Chambers, Shittu, DeMerit, Stewart, Powell, Mackay, Doyley, Mariappa, Smith, Francis, Bangura, Bouazza, Mahon, Spring, McNamee, Young, Henderson, Priskin, Jarrett. No Solano, but Sibi, Emre, Duff, Dyer and Parker are in there
  9. Chronicle says: ""But Damien Duff has made an amazing recovery despite just having a cartilage operation after our game at Arsenal near the end of last month, and he will possibly have some involvement tomorrow." Which to me indicates he won't start. "One sticking point on the injury front is the fitness of Stephen Carr, who is not making any progress at all with his ankle injury." Toe, ankle, who cares. "Emre has a good chance of being back tomorrow after his ankle injury at Blackburn Rovers last Saturday, but Nobby Solano only has a 50-50 chance of playing. Emre on the left? "However, Scott Parker has a better chance than this and Kieron Dyer will be fit again, while we will assess Antoine Sibierski before to-morrow's kick-off." Dyer up front you'd assume, Parker in the middle with Butt. Oh and Roeder is checking on Sibi's fitness, but I don't think he'll be involved tomorrow.
  10. Baba's 5th yellow means he misses the Chelsea cup game because the suspension begins 7 days after the 5th yellow. Somebody should think of a way of making sure everybody knows that because that question has been asked about a dozen times this last week.
  11. Well when you think there's about 6 "doubtful" players we could be here all day trying to preidct the team with some fit and some not and really, it's pointless. We should have a sweepstake. How many of the following will be in the 16 on Saturday? Parker Carr Dyer Emre Sibierski Zoggy Solano Duff Moore And that's not including the one's that have no chance before anyone lists the whole list of absentees
  12. Shit you're right, UEFA must have changed it on their site that because it's only on Goal Difference they're 2nd. So it's Feyenoord, Hapoel Tel-Aviv or Zulte Waregem we can face so far.
  13. They are all 3rd place teams in their groups??? Only 4 of the groups were done tonight, other 4 tomorrow, and we can't play Fener because they're in our group (we could play them in the round after next though provided we both win), so that's why there's only 3 listed
  14. Celta in second, Fener in 3rd. Palermo out on Goal difference Potential opponents for us from the groups that finished tonight are: PSG, Zulte Waregem and Feyenoord
  15. So, what you're saying is, I am right

    Song for Sib

Festive: When Sibi got stuck up the chimney He began to shout "You girls and boys won't get any goals if you don't help me out" He's on the attack There's a man at his back The grass is slippery too, When Sibi got stuck up the chimney, TOON TOON TOON Or: I saw Sibi kissing Terry Mac Underneath the mistletoe last night Oh what a laugh it would have been If Roeder had only seen Sibi kissing Terry Mac last night

    Essien's goal

Oh yeah because when Taylor thumped one in from 40 yards nobody battered an eye lid.
  18. Do you not think Rossi will want to give his parent club a massive lead in the title race by pegging back Chelsea? It's all very well saying he doesn't want to be here, but it works both ways.

    Mourinho!

He's not exactly wrong in what he says though is he? People credited Pearce yesterday for speaking his mind and telling the truth - how is that different here?

  21. As I've been trying to find out all day, I don't think Babayaro is suspended http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php/topic,33423.msg644604.html#msg644604 For an explanation of sorts
