  1. It's the typical Newcastle scenario - before the game I think a fair few people would have taken a draw given the side we put out and their current form, yet again we do all the hard work and turn all that surprise optimism into a negative - and now we have to play another match, all very well saying Parker and Emre will be back but we're bound to lose a few more before then.
  2. There's 12 names on their team sheet, I like their chances.
  3. Dawson, you might be getting confused with the Moore's, Villa had Stefan Moore for ages and he was meant to be promising, but when he turned out shit they moved on to Luke Moore being promising - which he is, in all fairness, he has more Premiership hat tricks than you do.
  4. [centre]Given Solano Taylor Hunty Edgar Milner Dyer Sibierski Pattison Martins Luque That's if Emre and Butt don't make it. Reasons: No point playing Luque in midfield because he won't track back or work for the team, Pattison will and I've got him on the left because Roeder's played him their at the tailend of last season when he made his first starts, better than having him in the middle. Could switch with Sibi if necessary as he was used as a wide left man by City many times and will put a shift in. There's no defensive midfielder obviously, which is a problem but without making an attacking midfielder play there or playing Gate from the reserves there's no option, which is why I have put our 2 most experienced players in the centre as hopefully they'll have the sense to not over commit. Luque won't want to play and won't suit the cup tie atmosphere and will probably get kicked to shit by N'Gotty in the opening minutes, so you could replace him with anyone else who's fit, I've never seen Carroll play so I can't comment on whether he'd be up to it or not but all I know is he's big, is that a talent? No probably not.
  5. The only way I could see that being true is if Viduka is signed as stop gap until the summer when Liverpool will have been taken over and can afford Villa...but then why would he want rid of Crouch now anyway, unless he really does hate him.
  6. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?HLID=439393&CPID=8&title=Magpies+to+join+SWP+hunt&lid=&channel=Football_Home&f=rss&clid=4 Bloody Hell, SWP to us, Boro give us cash and Riggott for Milner - if all that comes off, who would be happy?

    New crisis

In the article it has Roeder quotes saying Emre and Butt are doubtful. Then Oliver says "United will have none of their walking wounded back for Saturday" Talk about contradiction..
  8. Henry's back and has scored a pen. Charlton down to 10 (Sankofa sent off for professional foul) Want Chelsea to beat Villa just to keep us 13th
  9. What don't people get. Parker = captain = responsible Given = Slightly hampered kicking Responsible captain SHOULD think "let's not wear Shay out un-necessarily" and it's from the kick off, he had a choice of 10 others to pass to. If Parker passes to anybody else the clearance will more than likely go over half way due to not being in our own 18 yard box. This means the ball and subsequently Man utd's players are further away and who knows, we might not end up with 3 people around the ball blocking the keeper's view. Is it pedantic? Hell yes. I like Parker, he's committed and does a good job and he didn't do too many (if any) twirls on the ball yesterday. A captain should make better decisions than that, IMO, and yes it might not have led to a goal and you can't really blame him as such, but surely the biggest Parker fan in the world can see he made the wrong decision.
  10. Parker had a very good game last night I'm not complaining about his performance as a whole, I just think it was fucking stupid to pass back to the keeper from kick off. People will probably be protecting that no doubt, but seriously, why do it especially when Shay has been struggling to kick with his injury.
  11. Becasue Scott the magnificent thought "we've kicked off, Shay's got a groin problem, his kicking's been iffy all game, let's test him from the kick off."
  12. People would go nuts if Roeder didn't take the FA cup seriously - afterall as the media will point out relentlessly "Geordies love the FA cup" Problem is I don't think he can rest anyone, we've essentially got a back 4 of the youth team and a winger and Pattison is our first reserve for the midfield, Roeder's already said none of the dozen players injured will be back so it's not as if he has a load of options, and if he plays the likes of O'Brien, Carroll etc. you're bordering on farcical. Avoid an upset and if we get a home tie to a lower team in league one or two then fair enough, throw the youthies in.
  13. Newcastle (from): Given, Srnicek, Krul, Solano, Edgar, Taylor, Huntington, Parker, Butt, Emre, Milner, Pattison, Troisi, Gate, Martins, Dyer, Sibierski, Luque, Carroll. Man Utd (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Neville, Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Silvestre, Evra, Heinze, Ronaldo, Park, Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes, O'Shea, Giggs, Richardson, Rooney, Solskjaer, Saha. No Duff
  14. He's Very doubtful. I hope he's out completely, not even a sub. Don't like the man and don't want to hear his name over the season of goodwill
  15. I hope they're the type of siblings that fight with each other over everything.
  16. There may be some long nights on here if the Deep brothers are let loose
  17. What have I done to you? I love you. I want to be like you when im older your my hero. You're. I'm. And I suggested yours would be deleted because its a duplicate thread, it was started after this one. Also this is clearly the bigger thread, deleting this one would be silly. I'm a bit annoyed that Kevin Davies is back, he makes a fair bit of difference to Bolton
  18. Or just delete his :winking: Soccer Master is considered a favourite of mine now compared to this guy. I hate away to Bolton. We even lost there when we were good. Still, I'm praying Oba and Dyer will make a difference because you can see there's a real feel good factor in our squad at the moment, everyone's smiling and full of confidence and although I'm not expecting anything, we can but hope. At least Huntington is tall, he should help on set pieces and the inevitable long long long throw ins. See that's two positives I've plucked out.
  19. Aye a good thread that aswell. Yeah I thought so too, I nearly pissed myself when he goes "So I outsmarted you their" - Shame he doesn't know his there and theirs though Didn't we succeed in doing it at SJP though only for 2 defensive errors to totally bollocks it up (of which neither of them actually were down to our style of play). Did we bully them? It was a while ago I don't remember all that well. I remember scoring from a penalty and Ramage missing an open goal, and Oba having a 1 on 1 saved early in the second half from a flick on (possibly by a Bolton defender). Oh and Steve Carr being inept. Don't think we were particularly long ball though. In fact I seem to remember playing really well for the first half hour or so.
  20. Super. It was a reaction to reading what your wrote in Lloydies thread, I think the phrase is "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."
  21. Problem with that Nazza is we tried that against Watford and Sib hardly got a touch. No point in trying to beat Bolton at their own game, so it's Dyer and Martins for me, pace against brutality. Sib will be eaten up by Meite/Faye/Campo
  22. Say what blueupset.gif i wrote this one yesterday blueyes.gif http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php/topic,34330.0.html Yes you started yours first, but I wasn't disputing that. I'm saying I don't know who I dislike more
  23. Oh dear we have duplicate threads, made by the soccer master and deep - talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place
  24. Squads from the BBC: Newcastle (from): Given, Srnicek, Krul, Solano, Babayaro, Taylor, Ramage, Huntington, Parker, Butt, Emre, Milner, Duff, Pattison, Troisi, Gate, Edgar, Martins, Dyer, Sibierski, Luque, Rossi, Carroll. Bolton (from): Jaaskelainen, Hunt, Meite, Ben Haim, Faye, Pedersen, Gardner, Campo, Nolan, Giannakopoulos, Speed, Anelka, Diouf, Davies, Vaz Te, Al Habsi, Teimourian, Tal, Fojut, Smith. Diouf and Stelios major doubts for them, Davies back from suspension. Duff "might" be back for us, Given is struggling.
