  1. Just stay with 3 at the back. You need to score or you're out anyway.
  2. Game over, probably. Chelsea have scored one more than Barca over these two legs but man oh man have they been unambitious in attack.
  3. Cole just got schooled again. Keita should have done better.
  4. Shut the fuck up, Drogba. That was all ball.
  5. Yeah, I'd stick Bojan in there and have him hover around the penalty area, waiting for crosses. They need an alternative so that Chelsea can't afford to defend the way they're doing.
  6. Poor ball by Messi. Cole is being raped, though.
  7. Phew. Twice too close, goddamn it.
  8. Ref looks like Ray Wilkins. Obvious which team he's going to favour.
  9. Same pattern of play like the first leg developing. Come on, Barca.

What do you mean? Selling players when we're in the Premiership is bound to get us more money than if we sold the same players when we're in League 1 because we won't be seen as a team who's desperate to sell. And with regards to replacing the players, if we're planning to replace them with Championship players then it'll cost the same amount either way. And if we eventually make it back up, we're going to have to buy better players and hence be stuck with some CC players that aren't of use to us anymore. This bs (not at you, Dave) about it being easier to rebuild and clear out the shite if we're relegated has to stop.
  11. I think even at the time it was well documented that Souness wanted Anelka & Boa Morte, but someone else in the club wanted Owen & Luque. To be fair I don't remember too many complaints at the time. Thought he wanted Luque (suggested to him by a mate) and Anelka to create a 4-3-3 (the same reason Parker and Emre were bought) but Freddy went out, got Owen and so that plan went.
  12. Yeah, I think this is the way forward. The ref calls the game as he wants to and a team has one or two 'challenges' per half which can be used to challenge a foul, corner/free kick, penalty, goals etc. They can easily do this by having an extra official sitting in a booth somewhere and the manager can alert this official (who would alert the actual ref and stops the game) and reviews the play.
  13. Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Cole, Alex, Terry, Essien, Ballack, Lampard, Malouda, Anelka, Drogba. Subs: Hilario, Ivanovic, Di Santo, Mikel, Kalou, Belletti, Mancienne. Barcelona: Valdes, Alves, Abidal, Pique, Toure, Busquets, Keita, Xavi, Iniesta, Eto'o, Messi. Subs: Pinto, Caceres, Gudjohnsen, Bojan, Sylvinho, Hleb, Pedro. Henry's out for Barca. Anelka starts for Chelsea and Cole returns, but otherwise the same lineup as last week. Busquets is also in; I'm assuming he'll play in CM and Toure drops back to CB or Keita plays DM and Iniesta takes Henry's place and Busquets drops into the CM role. Edit: Bolded to make it easier to read.

  15. Chris Eagles Do you still have a hard-on for Man Utd's reserves, Delima?
  16. Just like they did last year, and against Chelsea... Still waiting to see them SCORE against a decent team. What the hell?! They did it 6 bloody times on Saturday! Real Madrid need a whole new defence and strikeforce to be anywhere near decent, probably a couple of midfielders aswell. And the 100 goals they scored in the league? 9 against Atletico, a team whom Liverpool managed just one (and a dodgy one too). It's fun employing flimsy logic to support your claims, innit?
  17. Just like they did last year, and against Chelsea... Still waiting to see them SCORE against a decent team. 3 matches that they thoroughly controlled and conceded only 1 goal, and you decide that they haven't scored against a decent team? Obviously my credibility is at stake tomorrow
