i've seen him play a few times when he played against Cramlington juniors when he was a right winger for Wallsend boys club, used to always be up against my nephew as he was the left back. I always presumed he was Spanish, been overhere a long time though sure he was playing for Wallsend at under 9 or 10 level.

With Chelsea linked to big money moves for new strikers like Ageuro surely we should be enquiring about getting Daniel Sturridge on loan for the season.

Same mate. f***ed up my bets. Totally took the gloss off for me. tell me about it, we had a grand on them to win. still £1075 up though, we did almost but the whole lot on though so not a total disaster....that equaliser was still a sickener mind!

Don't think Vuckic will be going anywhere on loan, he'll be in and around the first time, like he would of been this season, actually, he'd have been in the team this season if he hadn't got injured. For people saying does Hughton rate him, yes he does. At the beginning of this season he was part of the first team squad, on bench a few games, started the Peterborough game then got crocked. If he hadn't been involved with the first team then las week wouldn't have been his first appearance for the reserves this season, he'd have been playing for the reserves at the beginning of the season. Regarding loans to Huddersfield, they would be an ideal team to send the likes of Inman, Newton, Airey, Tavernier, Dummett. Think they could gain some great experience at a club like Huddersfield or a championship side like Doncaster. Not sure i'd want any on season long loan but a 3 month loan would be good for them.

of course they will, they'll need to catch the bus home!
-
i wouldn't play him on Saturday but think i'd be tempted to give him a run out against QPR especially if he gets 90 mins under his belt in the reserve game next Tuesday. Although its not his ideal position i'd play him on the left wing.
-
Bloody hell after 4 pages and almost 90% slagging him off i hope my source was telling the truth!!!!
-
apparently signed a 12 month deal with view to a coaching role, although he maybe going straight in as a player/coach.
-
PRESTON for next season. i was going to put this in the rumours bit but as he's such a legend and so well loved on here i thought i'd start a new thread.
-
and that was at about 70% fit max

I think Hughton rates him highly, he had him on the bench and involved with the first team at the start of this season, like sewelly says his injury was a sickener as it left him on the sidelines for about 4-5 months.

i'd have Vuckic straight into the 1st team squad for the start of next season, i keep hearing people saying that we need to buy a creative attacking/midfielder, well we don't we've got one. I would love to see us use Haris the same way Moyes blooded and handled Rooney when he was breaking through.

Highlights & low points? Vuckic getting another 60 mins of football into him. Stevie Folan played really well at the back, we scored some goals for change. Got off to a sloppy start and conceded after a few mins, Alnwick beaten on his near post. Not really many low points, the pitch is crap and makes trying to play decent football very hard and if i was been picky i don't think the 4-1-3-2 formation worked that well, Maclaughlin sitting in front of the back 4 with Ferguson, the kid from the faroes and inman behind a front 2 of haris and baheng. We were quite narrow at times. Cheers for that Binnsy. I noticed when Vuckic was a U18 player that we played all sorts of formations (sometime 3 or 4 in one game) when he is in the mix. You have seen the youth cup game & tonight is that still the case? There wasn't too much tinkering tonight although we did slighly change formation when Vuckic and Baheng went off, went to a more 4 3 3 when Newton, Airey and Godsmark came on and Inman then came more into the middle and played behind Airey and we had a more fluid look. That is the formation that the Under 18's play and we look good like that.
-
both were good goals, Bahengs was a result of the best bit of football that we played, good exchange of passing in midfield set baheng free thru the inside left channel he out paced the defender and dinked it over the on rushing keeper. Aireys goal was more straight forward, Inman won the ball in the centre circle and then played a great ball over the defender, Airey used his pace to get onto the ball and while you were expecting him to take a touch and run into the area he hit it first time into the bottom corner completely taking the keeper by suprise. Vukcic goal was canny as well, ran onto another ball over the top and smashed a left foot shot into the bottom corner from about 16 yards. Dummets and morris goals were from corners.

he scored but was generally poor and replaced by Airey who scored a belter.

Good game tonight, we were very good in the 2nd half, Vukcic didn't score 2 though, Baheng scored one of the goals.
-
They had a very public row last season - I think it was the Blackburn away game. Enrique didn't cover back or close a man down, and when we lost a goal, Barton really let rip. They didn't combine well tonight, but seeing as Barton is a right-footed central midfield player, it was always going to be difficult. to be fair Barton was right to bollock Jose at the time cos Jose didn't do his job and it cost us.
-
yeah i've never seen his brother play but i've heard people say that at the age Jak is now he's better than his brother was at that age.
-
I think its just because i've seen him play so much better Mick, that was honestly the worst game i have seen him play in 2 years. He is definately still one to watch though.
-
This is probably the best set of kids we've had since Keegan first came in as manager. and the good thing is that it looks like we may have some more coming through behind this lot, the likes of Remi Streete in the under 16's and then the U15's have won the UK Nike Cup. although its a long long way from that level to the first team or even the reserves.

Baheng is going to get released in the summer and it'll go down as a missed opportunity for the player, the lad has had 3 injuries, two really bad ones which have probably stopped him getting his chance. He was just starting to settle and look promising when he done his cruciate and missed 9 months then started this season really well and was scoring goals and looking sharp but got another bad injury around October time, if he hadn't got injured i think he may have got a chance in the first and maybe would have saved the club bringing Harewood in. Now he has started playing again but can't see him getting a chance in the PL.
-
i forgot to mention some of the moaners at the match, couple of old blokes behind me were doing my head in. i coudn't believe some of the people were getting on the lads backs, madness, they are only 17-18 kids learning their trade. Also couldn't understand the booing at both HT and FT, yes it was probably aimed at the officials but it wasn't called for. Be devastating for the players if they've walked off the pitch thinking the boos were aimed at them.

Can't believe we have lost that game tonight, NUFC dominated for virtually all the game, even when we were down to ten men we still had all the possession. Chris sums up the game pretty well, they'd scored a right jammy goal with the lads header coming back off the post and hitting Alnwick on the head as he was on the ground.... Thought the two centre halves, Folan and Henderson(before he was injured) were excellent, the midfield bright but just lacked a cutting edge up front. I Wonder if Joyce is now thinking it may have been a better idea starting with Vuckic and giving him the first hour, he looked on a different level to every other player on the pitch when he came on. Only disappointment for me was Tavernier, he had a mare and that was the worst i've ever seen him play in about 2 years. Only thing he done was block the ball on the line to stop Simmonds getting a 2nd goal in the last minute. I only hope tonight hasn't dented his confidence and he bounces back as he's much better than tonights showing.

Looking to be quite the waste of money. Bit harsh saying waste of money, hardly like we've broke the bank for him. He just doesn't seem to have recovered from the bad knee injury he got. For whatever reason he hasn't been able to back to the level he was before the injury, he has struggled and played poorly in virtually all the games i've seen him play this season.
