i would be really disappointed if we didn't get a bigger crowd than Villa. I'm hoping for somewhere between 3-5k, hopefully higher. I went to the league game early in the season when Villa won 2-1, we played rubbish that day and gifted them 2 goals but remember they had a little lad up front called Simmonds who looked a decent player, if we keep him quiet tonight then i think we'll go through. It's another big test for both sets of players and could boil down to which team handles the occasion and conditions the best, after playing all season in front of a handful of people they've now got to play in a big stadium and 1000's of people.

surely though just by reading the article its clear that Kadar was talking to what i'm presuming could be something from hungary, pepsifoci and skysports have took the quotes from there. No doubt the questions were aimed at him and they are asking about HIS injury and how HE was playing. Thats how i read the article anyway, its a complete non story and can't believe the reaction although the comment about him playing for a team like Wigan is hilarious.....not a chance.

How you all getting down? we aren't all going together, out of the 34 there's about 4 different groups, some going for the weekend and some going on the day. I'm going with another 9 and going by TAXI!!! lol crumpy, have u still got a train going?
-
they've probably received them now from QPR so are getting them sent out and out of the way, leaving them more time to sort the ipswich tickets out!
-
the 34 that we applied for came today as well :-)
-
i like that although i think instead of a really great Steve Harper it should a goalie called Stevie harper
-
How was his face/jaw looking?

Heard a rumour at the reserve match tonight that we could be playing Rangers at Ibrox.
-
yes its had me baffled as well, especially when he was getting picked ahead of young Inman.
-
just got back from the match tonight, it was crap! we were really poor but looked to have nicked it when Baheng scored with about 5 mins to go only for the team to totally switch off and let there centre half head home unmarked from a corner. First time i've seen the young lad from the faroes and he looked to be neat and tidy but needs to get stronger, done great for the goal when slipping the ball through for Baheng. Only thing that tonight proved is that the likes of Tozer, Donaldson, Godsmark, Lough, Morris, McClaughlin and especially Danquah have no future at NUFC, none of them good enough to even play in the championship nevermind the premiership.

i think it would be great if we sang songs for all the players during the Ipswich game, not just the usual Shola song or Colo song or he's here he's there spiderman song but start with Harper and go through the whole side, even if its just a case of one Danny Simpson etc, then Williamson, then Colo, then a blast of Jose jose jose. we've got wayne wayne routledge on the wing on the wing, one danny guthrie, no no no no no no no kevin nolan, spiderman, andy carroll, peter lovenkrands. Then Shola, alan alan smith etc and then finish with Hughton!!!
-
It was absolute class when we sang it at the Stadium of Light and it was funny when we played boro but i thought it was cringeworthingly embarassing singing it to the Blackpool fans, that was the first time we'd played them in the league since 1971 and played a couple of cup games against them, the last one in mid 80's!! The song meant something against the mackems, it loses all significance against the likes of Blackpool or Ipswich.

think the club should dish out flags again and bring the Graham Danby the opera singer back as well. Atmosphere is going to be cracking.

yes friday with a 7pm ko, £3 entry, £1.50 kids and oaps

I'm off work this week too, but didn't even know the game was on, as i've been ill all weekend. I didn't even have the energy to log on to my PC. The times i've stood freezing, watching the reserves and youth teams. It would have been nice to watch on such a glorious day, despite the result. They've got another game on Wednesday although that one is back to a normal 7pm ko.
-
he's hardly scored for the reserves since 2008! The season he was "banging" them in for the reserves was last season but 80% were in a purple patch before xmas. He is strong, holds the ball up well and works defenders but his finishing his poor.

Was that another NUST initiative? No i think one thing NUST has said since day one, actually even from the days of the NUSC that they were 100% committed to supporting the TEAM and were advocating people GO to the games to support the team when we were battling relegation. I do know 4 lads who go to the match with the group of the lads i go with who chucked in their season tickets before this season in protest to Ashley's running of the club and fair play to them as they've stuck to their principles even though its killed them not being at the home games. They have been to virtually every away game mind and you could never call them fair weather fans in a million years.

Newcastle Under 15's have won theUK finals of the Nike Premier Cup tournament this week, after getting out of a tough group including the likes of Arsenal, Villa, Blackburn and Pompey, they then went thru the 1/4's and semi before beating Chelsea in the final. The World finals are to be held in August in Manchester, 9000 teams from 43 countries entered. Hopefully the fact they've beat Villa and Chelsea will be a good omen for the Under 18's in the youth cup!
-
I didn't go, but my mate did, and that is almost word for word what he said as well. I'm suprised with that as all i seem to have been saying for the last couple of seasons when watching the youth team is that we seem on the small side (Andy Carroll obviously being an exception) and struggle against the bigger more physical teams.
-
Cracking result, sets up next week nicely, the lads deserve a good turn out to support them. Just make one change, start Vuckic and give the lad an hour or so instead of Adjei or Ameobi.
-
does anyone know if away goals count? i think they do but not 100%
-
Thats probably why it says he's starting from the bench. i never read the link!! lol
-
can't see him starting, he's only played 20 mins of football this year! Good to give him maybe half an hour and hopefull have the lad in a position to start next week in the return leg.
-
just make sure they don't get a big defeat, an away goal would be nice. I would gladly take a draw and then twat then at SJP next Friday night!!!
