Ironically we look desperate for an Elliot Anderson type of player.
-
Simons is Spurs best player. To put him on the bench today is wild.
-
Miley, Botman and Osula starting
-
Fulham have been absolute shite.
-
We could have kept him but didn't want him. We offered him a poor pay and play deal that we knew was never going to be accepted, by all accounts. His contract at West Ham also a pay and play just on much better terms. Not sure what the point is, he was never a realistic option?
-
We could have triggered a one year extension but offered him only a pay and play deal instead. We were hardly desperate for him to stick around considering we didn't take up his one year option. It's a nice narrative but it's misleading.
-
It's going to be interesting who comes on first Ekitike or Isak.
-
Yeh. The ones we targeted were the ones which were realistic, available and affordable. Haaland and Yamal The Howe outers arguments really fall down quickly once you start to look a bit deeper. That's where we are at - Haaland and Yamal? Wow
-
The players we attempted to sign were either out of favour or wanted to move to a bigger club. And more importantly wanted wages we could afford to pay. Don't think Yamal and Haaland would fit that now somehow.
-
When you have aspirations to improve the first team ..It's really not.
-
Wissa was Wilsons replacement, yeh. When he went on strike and Isak also went on strike, we were basically extorted.
-
There were no other options. Who else was available? Even Woltemade wasn't available but we paid over the odds for him to get his signature. We were very desperate.
-
Aye, how many people want their best player to go on strike and demand a transfer.
-
Considering how far down the list Woltemade was, do you think he was very keen on him?
-
If Howe had got one of Ekitike, Sesko, Cunha, Mbeumo or Delap. Players he had liked for some time I would agree. But Woltemade was a panic move.. Driven mainly by the board to justify the Isak sale. We couldn't keep Isak. So needed someone, anyone.
-
Hopefully with some training pitch time we can see him turn around his form. Hope so, but not very optimistic. Doesn't look the same player as he did at Brentford.
-
Huh, he had a significant injury and no pre-season? That isn't made up. He hasn't worked so far.
-
Howe does what he thinks is best for the team. It's pretty clear it's not working at this moment of time with Nick and doesn't trust him to lead the line just yet.
-
Wissa was a good signing on paper albeit very overpriced. He got injured straight away and had no pre season, hasn't worked out so far.
-
1 in 4 isn't exactly brilliant.
-
Wissa was only a mistake in hindsight. He was proven, available and wanted to come. We paid over the odds to get him in and he hasn't worked.
-
Tbf when he plays in attack he doesn't touch the ball, or try and get on the end of any crosses.
-
What other options were there? Every striker that had been available we explored and they signed elsewhere. We were attempting to replace arguably the best striker in Europe. Woltemade was a panic buy which Howe couldn't exactly say no to, since we had no one else and couldn't sell Isak until someone else was in.
-
With the manic fixture schedule we have endured none of our players are on the training pitch for one. Why not just recognise the fact that there are mitigating circumstances for our position in the league. Panic signings because the top brass have fucked up the transfer window haven't helped us or Howe. Having a top striker would go a long way in improving our form. Hopefully those signings come early in the summer.
-
Who else was available? On paper Wissa is a proven goal scorer, since his injury he's been dire. And on paper Woltemade is a top prospect. Neither have been effective for us, and don't even seem to want to attack the box when crosses are coming in. Imagine our attack with Ekitike and one of Mbeumo/Cunha. And how many more points we would have.
