All summer there were fears that fans would stay away, making us an even bigger loss-making machine. Even with all this going on and no investment, we've shown that 40,000+ crowds are pretty much a given for 21 more home games. The away following too. I know that most of us are radgees who go as much for abeer as anything else, but our fans are the best around

I think we need to compare to the other promotion contenders. The Baggies have been recruiting and the Smogs have lost very few players. If we want to go up we need a stronger squad.

Redheugh. I know you can't say too much. But when you say the money to buy a football club has been deposited into a client's account. Do you mean a deposit or the whole amount?

From the media reports I have to say that I'd ordinarily be very sceptical about this latest development. Sheard has a chequered past and there seems to be too much publicity, no proof of funds and too little time. Redheugh clearly has the inside track though and is hinting that proof of funds has been given, the money is in an account, there are wealthy backers and some other more cryptic stuff. Consequently (and I know I'll regret this) I'm getting my hopes up again.

Bloke (football correpondent) on 5 live about half an hour ago saying that one of the 3 groups was at the 'signing stage ' today and it could have gone through but didn't. Also said it is looking likely that Ashley will keep hold of the club.

"Where they stand", will probably be that things are still ongoing. I wouldn't be getting hyped up about this. Been there too many times this summer.
