I think (again) the word is REALITY (not 'total misery'). What facts are there to support the 'hope' thing? Or is it BLIND hope? We can all do that, I suppose. Listen mate I'm as fed up with all this as the next man and at times I've thought (fleetingly) about packing in. But I'll be there at Cardiff next Sunday having got up early and spent a fortune. And to be honest I'm hoping that my dedication will ultimately be rewarded with a return. That might be delusional but hoo hum
-
Same here but it seems we agree our keppers are shite
-
I particulary like the 'footballers tense'. Well I've come in at the back post and the defender has been able to clear......
-
Yes I am. But I'd rather invest in a little bit of hope than consign myself to total misery.
-
I'm sensing this will be a popular view

Always count on Manor Park for that little bit more grinding negativity

Surely some kind of breach of lucrative contract?
-
That's my point. It is a different world, but keeper is a funny position. Many players develop gradually and there is less chance of this happening now as young lads don't get the chance. I can see where clubs are coming form (ironically I think Harper shoukld be playing ahead of krul). I still think it is counter productive in the long term though
-
Not saying they should. Just saying that it is an obvious and damaging corollary of foregin imports that our young prospects in such a specialised position will suffer. 20 years ago we had 22 English keepers playing at the top level now we have less than 10.
-
There are only 20 slots available is premiership keepers though, even less at the 'decent clubs'. So if there are 10-12 foreign keepers in the division then there isn't much scope for English keepers. It is kind of like the debate over whether foreign defenders, midfielders etc are keeping out young English talent, but magnified as there is obviously only one kepper in each team. Carson, Foster, Hart et al have all been signed by 'top' clubs but been loaned out as non-English players are playing in the first team. Surely they would have benefitted from being the first choice of their respective club?
-
It's a real weak position no doubt. Can't be helped by the fact that a lot of the up and comers are blocked off by foriegn keepers and then have to get loaned out
-
If we do get taken over it will be one of those coming days

The gadgees on SSN reckon that a draw might do Scotland on Weds. Something to do with Iceland drawing with someone tonight???
-
I agree. Though ironically Paterson missed the best chance of the lot

Nobby playing for Peru tonight SS1

I'm not keen on the could bit

Not much substance in there like - I was hopeful from the headline

Was Shearer a genius out of curiosity? He was [skirge]fkn[/skirge] fantastic at what he did, and aye he was smart but wouldn't really call him a footballing genius. Not sure if it was that season but it looked like genius to me when he took the mickey out of the offside claiming Everton backline from a throw in 2001-02, that was the 6-2 game Fook me. Time flies
-
Not sure N.Ireland are going to hold on here. Where does a draw leave them?
-
He needs some Koreas advice
-
Not such a popular view in representative democracies that

aye,if it was a broken leg and only took them 10 minutes to sort him out,it wouldn't have been serious at all . You know what was meant. 30 mins is obviously far more significant than 10.
