    RIP sale thread.

it won't come out of ashleys pocket you can count on that Yes it will, if its over a certain amount that has already been factored into the price. do you not think the price/terms may change depending on the outcome ? When the club went on the market none of the bidders were given full info about the Keegan claim i.e. no contracts, legal documents etc. - they were given a summary prepared by NUFC's own lawyers, less than a page. They put a likely value on the claim. If it comes in over and above that it potentially has an impact on price - although there are other ways it can be factored in. True
  4. Only if we're making a porn film. very good!
  5. I watch Kaka week in week out, and to be honest i also watch Lampard week in week out. Kaka usually plays a freerole behind the striker and is the best in the world at this. Hes got an enormous amount of pace, great shot, unbelievable vision and he creates so much out of nothing its not even funny. Lampard to me is one of the best in the world, but Gerrard is a better midfielder and i would even argue that Cesc is a better midfielder. But there's no doubt that Kaka is a better player, but that doesnt mean Lampard isn't one of the best. I would argue that only Messi is better than Kaka at the moment. this is probably the most confusing post i have ever read on any forum! It's like a fucking riddle
  6. we've had other forwards who got slagged off cos they didn't make any chances for themselves. When playing up front on their own on their full debut? played up front on his own ? seems like he got plenty of support (if he got no support how was his awareness to lay balls off being so hyped). he had a decent game. now to get worked up over. reminiscent of carroll and the end of last season in those couple of home games he played when he actually looked a decent touch player. He did lots of support, from midfield, but we had no other strikers on the pitch. It was a 4-5-1 wasn't it? I was encouraged heartily by his display in difficult circumstances on paper it was a 4-5-1 but it really means little. at times nolan pushed right up so did that make it 4-4-2. ? sometimes guthrie pulled right in...was that 4-3-1-2 ? the point is he was very rarely left isolated. He's been criticised on here for leaving his station and dropping too deep or pulling out to the flanks. So maybe he went and found the support. The bottom line is he did well non? we'd better hope so as it looks increasingly like the same line up on Sunday in attacking terms. he done well yes. aswell as carroll did on a couple of occasions last season. oh to me he didn't go to find the support,it was very much the pther way round. I agree on all counts as it happens. Carroll is a beast in the air I'm gutted he's not fit for Sunday.

  9. He was by himself because we literally had no other senior strikers at the time as Shola was injured and Owen was still recovering from tearing his leg up in Germany. He wasn't 19 of course, but it was still his first game in English football. Really, when I saw your post, it just reminded me of Oba's first match here. He got some vitriol, but most people were sensible for the same reasons. Ranger is only 18 btw. Luque played up front in the second half (not having checked this on google - honest) Anyway sounds like we agree. Ranger did good
  10. What was his debut Villa away? I was there and I don't think he was playing up front on his own. Neither was he 19 and he had just cost 10 million quid. In no way are the 2 situtaions comparable - except that we beat Leicester and Nile didn't get a dead leg

    Mark Viduka

He achieved enough. Very good at some points, but his limiations made it so he'd never be a top class player. You could easily compare him with some of the best 10 players in the premiership (I can think of at least 2 at Chelsea) and say that Viduka had more natural talent for the game. The difference being, they've worked to get better and better. Viduka's natural talent easily outweights Shearer's for example, but Shearer was determined to make the absolute best of it by maintaing (and eventually adapting) fantastic physical condition. And of course, showing professionalism on and off the pitch. In what way? Certainly his technique, superior touch, you could also argue his finishing was more clinical from an earlier age. And of course the obvious one, size. In no way was Viduka a better finisher than Shearer. And being big is a natural talent? Shearer's control, touch and link up play were all surprisingly under-rated. There was a point when he was both the best crosser and finisher in the country .and rarely if ever wasted the ball. Viduka was never a patch on him

  13. We just didn't create any chances for him against Leicester - he certainly didn't miss any chances

He is a bit biased though - he clearly hates Ashley. It just so happens we think this is justified and we like him as he is a fan like us. It is great to hear someone who is eloquent, in a position of relative power and who is clearly on our side. Doesn't do any harm that he quotes The Smiths either. I'd go as far as to say that he writes with due diligence.
  17. Work slow at the moment then? Bit of a hiatus on the relationship front? Weather shocking and nowt on the telly?
  18. think you'll find it's "shut up shop" That would explain why he's never understood it
  19. In a similar vein I always say 'go on Son' to players less than 10 years my junior
  20. "levelled" "i was on holiday. jimmy shagged three birds but i levelled on the flight home with a skank from byker"
  21. 'I've come in, put the kettle on, had a dig from 2 yards to get the teabag in the bin. Speculative, to say the least.' I've shagged the wife from behind...
