  1. Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on
  2. Gash, by all accounts. That's what I was inferring, yes
  3. In July MFC members helped raised £20,000 to enable Daish to buy striker Michael Gash from Cambridge. Heard this lad's no good like
  4. If we do get a genuine wow signing there will be a lot of people pulling a hard one off
  5. I know that their foundations seem to be made of sand, and that Cook bloke is a grade A tool. But I've got to admit that I'd have loved to have just signed Kompany and SWP.
  6. Icke. I agree with all of that. I was just saying what people's fears are. And you've got to admit the recent KK quotes re- Owen were pretty strongly worded. He's a double edged sword in my opinion. A great and emotive motivator who inspires people. But he also reacts badly (and emotionally) when things don't go his way. Hence the occasional rants (which sometimes allow him to get his own way). It was reportedly the same in his first tenure when he was siad to have offered his resignation x number of times. I reckon he's the same now, but in these days of internet discussion and huge media coverage we are just hearing about the conflagrations as they happen.
  7. How can anyone argue with the lad when he uses the word COULD. They might not be our best eer signings but they look pretty good to me and they COULD be.
  8. I honestly think it isn't Milner per se that people are getting worked up about. It is KK's realtionship with the board (in it's various guises) and how the Milner issue could cause the whole thing to come crashing down at a seriously important time. It's the same with the new signings and Owen's contract for me. On there own they don't matter too much. If we tried for quality and failed (thus having to wait til Jan) it would be a blow, but far from terminal. If MO leaves on a bosman next year it would be ablow, but we could replace him. However, these are all issues that KK has seriously pushed for PUBLICALLY and if any one of them doesn't come off he'll look undermined. The media will have a field day as a minimum. Worst case scenario is tyhat he'll feel let down and marginalised and potentially pack in. Leaving us back at square one when things had finally started to look up.
  9. That has to be the ultimate aim. But a little subsidisation in the short term woukd be nice.
  10. But they'll nearly be back. The Smith bit was as more of a temporary solution until the others were back!
  11. As Dave suggests for Arsenal. Then we have a 2 week hiatus. In which time Smith will probabaly be fit. Him and Owen up top would be fine. Milner's situation will be resolved and we will either be able to use him or, hopefully will have a replacement. Martins and Viduka won't be far behind either. We might even have signed a striker if Shola has moved on.
  12. The whole requesting it (the club) to remain private and then releasing a statement a week later thing is weird. Almost inviting bids???

    Wednesday's Agenda

I think he's saying that that is roughly what he would have cost had he not bought out his contract
  14. Have you ever seen Milner cross a ball?
  15. Milner may not need replacing directly in this window (ie) signing a right winger. However, it would accentuate the need for us to get a CM and striker as they are the positions where we have been counting on him as cover. All in all it would make the situation more desperate.

    Wednesday's Agenda

They're not minutes, that my friend is an agenda
  17. It's the KK quotes about Owen that have got me worried. At best it just givesthe media more ammunition, at worst a real schism could develop.

    Wednesday's Agenda

They were (pretty clearly) in relation to MO's ongoing contract negotiations. Also, from the later Milner story Anal has served up this little gem..... However, he was then summoned into the ball boys’ room at the Ricoh Stadium by United’s managing director Derek Llambias. Keegan was clearly subdued when he emerged from this meeting and he made a point of making several references to his 22-year-old winger (Milner) when he spoke to the written Press.
  19. And the Colo deal happened! Way to defeat your own point

    Wednesday's Agenda

Quotes from KK in tonights Ronnie. Don't much like the sound of them ... "I am not trying to be awkward,” he said. “Michael is a very special player. He is very important to this club and my vision for it. “If other people do not share that it is their problem. I do not say these things publicly for any other reason than I believe it. “I know the kind of people you need at a football club. You can wait a lifetime for people who can help take it forward and he is one. “My job is to manage the club and that is what I am trying to do.”
  21. Given his sentiments expressed through themedia if Barry got a loyalty bonus it would be criminal. Formal request or not. I don't think a formal request should affect the asking price, though i take your point about his upping the ante with the written request.
  22. Brummie. Barry may not have put in (or slapped as these things tend to be desribed) but he made it abundently clear that he wanted to leave. Milner is under contract to us. If your club wants him they need to make an acceptable offer. If they don't he stays. It is exactly the same as the Barry situation.
  23. That was poor, though the intention was good
  24. Argentinian media reporting that Jonas won't lay for Argentina again until his dispute with Velez is resolved fully. Stick Newcastle into Google Spain and there are lots of links (i'm not very savvy tho' so can't post them here!)
