  1. Spot on Bobby. Players hate uncertainty and giving him a contract to thee nd of the season would give a modicum of stability. At the same time it wouldn't cost much for new owners to pay up should they want to.
  2. Best chance in a few years. But I don't think they have the squad to enable them to last the pace
  3. That doesn't make a great deal of sense. But I think I know what you mean. Shrearer was definitely at SJP on monday. Was it not last week he was alleged to be in Dubai though?
  4. Not looking the best for an announcement today........
  5. They're paying 100m over the odds to pay back the money that Ashley ploughed in to rid us of the debt. Maybe they just want to refinace that bit - so they are putting in what the club is actually worth.
  6. Colocinni has played right back for Argentina hasn't he?......

    Should have had 4 tbh
  8. There's another report in the NOTW saying the South Africans have a combined wealth of £1bn and would need to pay Ashley in installments. Relative paupers
  9. Barton is banned for 2 more games I think. From the way Kinnear was talking we won't be seeeing the return of our injured players until after the international break.
  10. That Sunday Sun piece is absolutely brilliant. Spot on
  11. GUILLEM REPLIES: No, Xisco is not a prolific goalscorer and never will be! But you need strikers who do other things, too! He's a tall, strong guy who can hold the ball up and link well with midfield. He's a work in progress but he has the ability to be like Emile Heskey; a better Heskey if he gets his head down and works hard. And it will be nice if he can link up with Michael Owen because he's a different type of striker.
  12. He said it in the club magazine interview
  13. They know no more than we do.
  14. He said yes to Guthrie and Bassong and was consulted over the attempts to sign that Zayette guy. So I assume he said no to some as well. He had some power and sway on player acquisitons. However, something went wrong in the window and led to a falling out and the last two lads being brought in without his consent. It is a complicated situation and one in which we are nowhere near in receipt of the full facts. But to say he had no power at all is churlish. However, to say that the board is above reproach is equally daft.
  15. As the club maintains that since 16th January it was definitely not in Keegan's gift to say yes or no to players, how was he able to do this? They didn't say that though. Did they?
  16. He could have kept turning players away, until the club had to take action on the last day and bring much needed new blood in 'over his head'. Who knows? It is all conjecture. But the FACT is that we are managerless, fragmeneted and disgruntled as a support (soemthing which I worry about the club being able to change), have a threadbare squad and 4 months until a window. We are, my friends, well and truely screwed.

Played a Zombie in the last ever episode of BBC's 'Byker Grove.'
  18. That would be a disaster when put alongsde the current injury problems.
  19. 3 years Ashley siad before it starts to bear fruit. Even then just a few coming through will be enough.
  20. ominously short thread this!
  21. I saw it on SSN, but they are hardly the gospel at times
  22. Geremi has a knee ligament injury according to Sky Text. Hope he doesn't lose his pace....
  23. You've been investing in gash?
