As we have seen evidenced of late - Liverpool don't sell for reasonable prices. Neither, it seems, do they pay them. They believe they have a god given right to sell you their dross for twice it's value and chuck a hissy fit if you want a decent fee for your players.

Yip they're the 6. Smith will be going nowhere I'd wager so will be the back up for the Duke (who may be injured for the start of the season but will be back soon enough) Shola will probs go in the window, but we have the likes of Zamblera waiting in the wings. Don't get me wrong we could do with another top class striker - but I said it wasn't essential. There is much remedial work to be done in the other 2 thirds first

Derspite the flack that he gets Viduka is a class act. Fitness permitting (a big doubt I realise) he could get us to where we want to go in the short term. It may be an unpopular view but I genuinely don't think it is essential to sign a striker this window as we already have six. However, we need at least 2 midfielders, a centre back and at least one full back

So all these boys are realistic summer targets then?

He did look decent in the games I saw at the Euro's. He is young, comparatively cheap and seems keen to come. all of teh factors make me pretty optimistic about this one. Can't claim to have any in depth knowledge of the lad though....

A bold prediction indeed Alex. He looked good to me and that is the first time I've seen him play. His passing and movement were good, he was two footed and looked strong, he also tracked back well. Looked a class act to me. Call me idealistic, but I can't see these attributes disappearing overnight, so I'm going to say that at some point he'll have another decent game.

Not sure of the veracity of these claims. However, as stated above - he is the last player who needs/ deserves a new contract at the mo. I like him, but he is expendable
