  1. You have to at least try to laugh it off. We're gonna get it from everyone and if you can't let it go and just smile, your health is going to suffer. It will be fierce and it will be incessant for a while. The jealousy and hypocrisy if off the charts and it's only day 2
  2. You said exactly what I was trying to say earlier but much more eloquently
  3. This might sound initially silly. But think about it. This next 5-10 years (hopefully longer of course) COULD be the most exciting era ever in the club's history. I don't even mean compared to what went before, I mean EVER. If we as humans, were able to see 500 years into the future to be able to look back, this next decade or so might actually be AS GOOD AS IT EVER GETS. It's all philosophical speculation based on nothing more than adrenaline and excitement I know, but it might never get as good as it's about to get, ever again. The main point being, don't let other's jealousy, agendas and pious hypocritical bullshit get in the way of enjoying this. If you want to argue and engage with them, have fun with it. If you want to agree with general points that others make and have meaningful discourse on serious topics beyond football, have at it, more power to you. Don't let it spoilt your health as i've allowed the past 14 years to impact mine. This is way too big not to enjoy to the fullest. It might not ever be an era to be repeated. Don't let it pass you by. I hope this post comes across like I intended
  4. Every time I think about the professional, passionate, ambitious and communicative people we now have running our club, I just feel emotions I haven't felt in years. This is a wonderful time to be alive.
  5. Between all of that, the behavior of their fans through the 70's and 80's and the wankfest in general at their club that still goes on nauseatingly today, their entire fanbase seems to have a collective irony bypass thing going on. Pretty sweet, we're now hated because we're a threat to their closed shop at the top.
  6. In the past that might even have gotten under my skin, i'd probably have been raging at the utterly ridiculous closed-shop attitude. I mean do they actually read what they write and believe it the fucking corny, entitled arseholes? I used to feel much more affinity in football terms with Liverpool than the snidey bitter sods across the park, the city itself is quite similar to Newcastle as well. if this is their general script they can shove it where the sun don't shine. Today is a new day, I just smile and move on with my day, knowing and believing that we're finally owned by credible, professional people who want to improve us and that we're finally rid of the cancerous wretch. Whatever comes, that's plenty enough for me.
  7. It's going to take a while for it to sink in that, in theory at least, we can now afford anything and anyone in a footballing sense. Whether we can immediately attract the very best yet in the managerial and playing sense, remains to be seen. We're not about to just come along and poach Pep or sign Salah. But I think we've seen the last of the days when we'd be rumored to have agreed a fee for a player but everyone is saying "Aye, but we'll not pay the wages man, at least we tried", or "He's playing great, will be an honour to see him in a Liverpool shirt". We no longer need to do that. I personally think this is the new owners opportunity to make a real statement, they'll talk in humble terms but in reality, they're going to want to make a big move and ensure we don't struggle. Time will tell.
  8. I don't think there's anything that couldn't be improved from academy, PR, commercial, sponsorship, playing staff, managerial and coaching staff, the list is almost endless and prioritizing all that is a job in itself. Overall though, as Yorkie said, the right manager with the right coaching setup and the team with that and the feelgood factor will get results and everything else can fall into place.
  9. Didn't think it was possible to hate this creep more with each passing day but fuck me, he proves me wrong daily
  10. I do think i'm ever so slightly in love with this woman, but more in a reverent, respectful kind of way. 4 years she worked for this to happen. Could probably have moved on but stuck around. She seems to immediately get the city and understands that this is a long-term job to chop out the 14 years of decay. Leaving the first team to one side for a minute, very excited to see what the consortium does on the commercial side of things and the changes to our training facilities and academy, thank fuck the days of being run down, told to know our place, sponsored, run and managed by chancers and spivs are gone.
  11. Its also on YT, 11 glorious minutes of her professionalism and down-to-earth eloquence
  12. It's just starting to sink in that we're about to become the biggest and best club we can be, finally. At 50, honestly thought i'd never see it happen.
  13. Can't honestly gather my thoughts. 24 hours of madness, can't get my head round it.
  14. Reports the deal is done are wide of the mark, the cash went in the wrong direction
  15. Feel like i'm dreaming, Ashley gone?!?
  16. Definitely wasn't gonna be Staveley's bagman
  17. Not at all, it actually made me think about it a bit more. I suppose in some sense, there's less chance to be counter-attacked if you take a short corner, since possession is easier to control and coaches are terrified of transitions and counters. From that perspective it makes sense. I still just hate them, it seems like it's just a way to maintain possession and not used to truly attack in a creative way, so it bores me. If they were used creatively, sure.
  18. It's probably why i'm not a PL coach I just hate them, the amount of times you watch a corner be taken short and it then peters out and the ball ends up back at the halfway line, drives me absolutely mental. I see no benefit but i'm not statistically up on it and will take your word for it.
  19. If I were a PL coach, I would literally fucking murder my players for taking a short corner
  20. Yes, it's clear that in the next 3 games, we'll transform
  21. Now for another fortnight of patronising media bollocks while Blubber Balls suns himself somewhere
  22. Werner 2-1, even he couldn't miss this one
  23. He looks to me like a player with some good attributes that needs a lot of coaching, he won't get that here
