We certainly could.. Here's hoping any of the new guys produces something, because the ones we know well aren't going to give us the three points today. -

who do you blame for houllier's heart attack at liverpool? I don't think Ashley was involved with Liverpool at the time.. Stop being overcritical on him, will you.. -

Just like Keegan before him, Kinnear was promised investment in squad reinforcements. Just like before it didn't happen, even when we're in serious relegation trouble. Keegan walked, Kinnear apparently succombes to the pressure, which isn't surprising given his earlier health problems. Still, Ashley is a dandy fellow. -

Joe Kinnear goes and we're left high and dry, crashing further towards relegation to the Championship IMO. No half-decent, self respecting manager is going to come in now and risk being the manager that takes us down. No matter what people think we need Kinnear until the summer, because it's him or noone. Don't agree. The problem last time was the nature of the temp contract and the club being up for sale. Now we can offer a long term deal. There is a much better chance to get a decent manager IMO. But we're still in the s*** with a hot-cold owner, a mute Chairman and amongst relegation. The transfer window is shut so the new guy wouldn't be able to implement any changes and would inherit a squad that seriously lacks confidence. When there's always a chance that he could take the job, not be able to motivate the batch of players there and take the 'mighty' Newcastle United into the Championship, there'll always be those doubts about his mind. I bet Bruce or Shearer wouldn't take the job before safety was confirmed. I can't think of any decent manager that would. Shearer won't take it no matter what as long as Ashley is in charge.. -

And what the f*** has Kinnear being unwell got to do with Ashley ? Well appointing a manager who has had serious health problems previously to do this job might just be to do with Ashley don't you think? and wise. dont forget wise. the b******. http://www.realestate.co.nz/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/head-in-the-sand.jpg -

No half-decent, self respecting manager is going to come in now and risk being the manager that takes us down. No matter what people think we need Kinnear until the summer, because it's him or noone. If a decent manager came in now and we happened to go down I don't think it would reflect that badly on him as long as there were signs of a more promising future.. We're that lowly now.. And don't tell me no decent manager would come here. That argument has been done to death and is, quite frankly, rubbish. -

Get well soon Joe.. Still, no surprise. His mental health had been waning ever since he was appointed, now it's getting to him physically (the transfer window won't have helped). The man isn't up to the task of managing us on so many levels. it's unreal. Sort it out Ashley! -

Sounds like he is for the first team at least. To be honest I haven't got a clue what's going on in the background. Seems like the loss of Jimenez was part of Ashley abandoning his previous system. Mike Ashley really is unbelievable. How did a bloke this thick ever succeed in business. So in response to the Keegan fiasco, he apparently decided that he would have to scrap the system, which was probably the only successful thing he did here, and give 100% control to the manager. The manager being in control isn't a bad idea in itself, but he fails to consider that "the manager" is Joe f***ing Kinnear. Hey!!!!

JFK is still talking the company line I see? Good man, will earn yourself a nice contract extension. Never mind where the club will be heading..
