  1. Oh dear, it's just been mentioned on Dutch television that Newcastle have launched an offer of 7 million Euros (4,5 mill pounds) plus Luque for Ryan Babel of ajax. I personally don´t rate him at all, but I thought I´d let you know. I also don´t think ajax can afford Luque´s wages..
  2. He can put a nice spin on it as much as he likes, but considering our depleted squad and his own managerial (dis)abilities it's far from certain that we will be staying up. It could be a very costly mistake to be so arrogant as to not consider stop gaps because they might not do us any good in the long run..

Don't kid yourself. No foreign, flair player should ever touch us with a bargepole tbh. Talented player graveyard we are..

Would be nice on a free. Can't see it happening though. We will probably let him go to Rangers and pay 8 million for him in the January 2008 transfer window..
  5. He hasn't played that many matches for them in the last one and a half season tbf, partly due to injury but still I don't think he's ever been the first name on Bayern's teamsheet..
  6. Just as bad if you ask me.. It's amazing how public opinion about Owen Hargreaves has swayed after the WC. Nobody wanted him in the squad than suddenly he's a world beater. Neither is correct in my opinion. Didn't Nicky Butt once have a blinder in a WC?
  7. Weren't we linked with him a while back? 1,5 million seems a very reasonable price for such a huge talent and it's for one of our problem positions too..
  8. I dont know exactly. 3 years I think. Dutchman, where does your interest in NUFC come from? Most of "you" are West Ham or Spurs fans I believe? I followed them ever since I've met a NUFC fan on my holiday back in 1997. We became friends that holiday and Ive been watching them on TV for all those years. NUFC is the only english club I feel sympathy for. I know some ajax fans who support spurs. Nver heard of any supporting West Ham. For me Toon Army is a very special club. Are you a toon army fan too? Are you dutch? I am a Dutch Toon fan too. Have had a season ticket for three years now starting when I moved to Newcastle, although I am not using it as much as I did due to being back in Holland. I'm not to fond of your other club btw.. :winking: You had your work in Newcastle? Sounds great, a seasonticket of NUFC. Still going to some matches? I cant help being an ajax supporter. Grew op with it thanks to my dad. But im not an 'avarage' ajax supporter. I respect everyone who supports an other club. I dont hate feyenoord or psv either. Just make laugh of them Whats your dutch club? Wherein Holland you re from? I worked in Newcastle, and may return shortly. I try to go to as many matches as I can this season, which works out as approx 1 per month. I am from Rotterdam, support that utter joke of a club from over here but never felt the urge to go to Feyenoord matches on a regular basis. Don't like the atmosphere as much as I enjoy it in Newcastle. from Rotterdam. Sorry for my remark about R'dam. I meant that its not a good thing to bring up your son the way he's been acting in the photo (altough its a funny photo). I miss something in Holland too. The atmosphere is just not good. Often too hostile. Thats why Im so glad to finally visit Newcastle in Feb. England is the home of footbal after all! Are you planning to visit NUFC - Liverpool as well? A great oppurtunity to see Kuijt play. Is that the first match you'll visit? I'm not sure whether I will be there, but I'll let you know at the time. It's the hostility I hate about Dutch football too..

  12. That's the original. There was a debate about it in Holland at the time plus if it was fake the Feyenoord supporter makng it would have used the first team shirt certainly..?
  13. At the prices being mentioned neither even though I know next to nothing about both of them. Their stats aren't that impressive and at 21/23 they should be close to their full potential. Even our reject Chopra looks a better prospect. 6 million? That's what Huntelaar cost @j@x a couple of months ago, or twice what Van Persie cost Arsenal! Another example of how massively overpriced British players are.. If we were to go British I would try for Ashton at a couple of million more; a good goalscorer and quite complimentary to Owen and Martins..
  14. Oh gee.. I'm afraid that's the worst possible opponent Feyenoord could have got from a hooliganism perspective..
  15. Good draw, although not a very attractive opponent.. Should see us through to last 16.
  16. Unbelievable

    Essien's goal

Not sure about that tbh, was off his line and caught completely unawares! Wasn't like Taylor hit a floater than just went it, he hit it with some power, a complete snap shot and the amount it dipped was amazing! It's called gravity, and it's much easier to make use of than putting unbelievable swerve and pace on a ball with the outside of the right foot to beat one of the world's best goalkeepers from 30 yards out.. For me it's got to be Essien's goal, because no goalkeeper in the world would have stopped it, whereas in Taylor's case, although an excellent, intuitive effort, it should have never gone in if Howard had been paying attention.
  17. What is van Basten supposedly keeping him under wraps for. it was just a way of saying he's not playing him much. That Journal is full of rubbish. Kuyt did play the full 90 minutes against Argentina. Kuyt is going to play in the starting line-up against Portugal as well but now as the central striker and Ruud wil be on the bench.. Exactly mate.. Hopeless newspaper, just as the rest of 'em over here in the UK..
  18. Well, that was easy.. what was?? He? You said it was beyond you how somebody could say Kuyt is worth £10M, but you would "gladly accept the opinion of someone who has seen 10-20 games".. I have seen that many games of him and more and value him at at least £10M. Look, this is really simple, if Newcastle don't want him for the asking price, Feyenoord will happily hang on to him. Imagine reading a thread on a @rsenal forum where people question whether it would be worth investing let's say £2M for N'Zogbia, where we all know he's easily worth that much and we would actually prefer him to stay if we could, because that's what reading this sort of comment feels like to me (being a Feyenoord and Newcastle United supporter). Knowing other clubs have previously bid near the full asking price, what is Newcastle thinking when going in with a bid well below the asking price?!
