Watford 1-0 Newcastle United 9/1/16 - post match "reaction" from page 12

What do you mean? Just the fact that supporting Newcastle has nothing to do with supporting Ashley and Sports Direct, the fans at the match today will have been going to games long before the fat b****** came Herr and will be going long after he has gone I just think it's very harsh to tar them with the brush that because they support their team they support Ashley which is 100% not the case Ok -

Aye, we'll get the same TV coverage in the Championship -
The club will no doubt see today's cup exit as a massive boost to our survival chances.

Are we allowed to say he's not good enough, or should we #wait some more?

no different to buying a car,you pick it up from the show room yet still charge you for delivery What? I can only assume you have never bought anything online. It's not normally more expensive to order online and collect than it is to go into the shop and buy it offline, which it sounds like he's doing.

Relegation gains nowt unless Ashley goes. No PL money and less exposure for SD. I think he'd lose interest. We need a buyer as well. He's not just gonna let it go for nothing Least of our problems -

That's it guys, let's direct abuse at the chap who hasn't been given anywhere near enough time on the pitch to prove himself. Well done, dumb asses. Support the regime, not the team innit? -

What? Do you think we're in with a chance of achieving our league target before the latest revision? If we lose this it's another season where we've failed to even achieve our own lowly ambitions. -

20 minutes to save our season -
Apparently Ashley messed up with online sales when he added a delivery charge to your order even when you pick it up in store, he was advised not to do it but did it anyway Ok, that definetely does not support my statement that he is a good businessman

Welcome to the 2016 January transfer window. We will not sign anyone as there will be no bargains to be had. Quite the contrary: prices will explode with the new TV deal about to come into effect which is why we blew our load in the summer. The club has spent all it had, it's now up to Ashley to invest and there is no way he will pay what will be the going rate this window.

http://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/jan/08/sports-direct-issues-profit-warning-poor-christmas-sales SD only gets 10% from its revenue of online sales, compared to 40% for John Lewis according to this. Surprised by that. Also surprised to see JD Sports has been outperforming them lately. Could his luck be turning?

I'm not a stock market specialist, but looks like someone bought 6m worth of shares directly after trading hours (?) and then half an hour later a much smaller transaction (12k worth) was done for some 9% more than the closing price. Looks a bit like manipulation to me, but maybe Matt or someone else can clarify. http://m.lse.co.uk/markets/shareprice/trades.asp?share=SPD

Out of FTSE 100 at current market capitalisation in March according to this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/12089022/Sports-Direct-issues-profit-warning-poor-Christmas-trading-blames-weather.html

Plus he needs cash to buy shares with. Doubt he has stashes of cash just lying around. Of course, he could fire-sell us to the Dubai government and re-invest it in SD shares. Here's hoping.

Pure conjecture imo
