Yeah, pathetic man for wanting more money while also being part of an interesting project. I bet you wouldn't leave your job for a better paid one if you got the chance would you? Yeah I would, then again I'm not doing what I love for my job and getting paid a ridiculous amount to do so. Falcao's transfer movements are controlled by his agents owners. FYP

Yep and they don't pay tax where as France has a very high tax rate so if someone like Marseille wanted to 'match' the wages Monaco are giving a player they would have to pay them something like 70% more. If the top tax tier is indeed now over 70%, that means other clubs will roughly have to pay over 3 times as much (gross) to give a player the same nett income, doesn't it? It really is ridiculous when you think about it. Imagine Aubameyang for example on 30k per week at St Etienne, leaving him 10k or so after taxes. They could come in and offer him 12.5k and that would be an attractive offer. You can see why other clubs don't want them in their championship, although I don't think this is a new problem. It just got worse with the ridiculous top tier tax increase. 75% for crying out loud. I would be heading abroad tbh.

Agree with the gist (want to keep him ideally, at least until we have a replacement plus an extra first team striker sorted), and I understand why you didn't include Shola in our forward options, but you must have forgotten about Gouffran if you think it's only him and Campbell?
-
Pretty much not up to him if that excellent article posted before was correct.

What a strange statement. We don't need to sell, but he's available for a fixed fee if you want him. Inviting offers?

2014/15 NUFC Kits - New third kit revealed on page 143
Unbelievable replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
The material on the away kit is horrible. Haven't seen it in the flesh, but looks good in bits and bytes. -
I wouldn't say that type of player (which we definitely need) would have to be able to play through the middle per se, what with already having 3 first team forwards for the lone striker position (Cisse, A.N. Other, Gouffran), a youngun needing game time (Campbell) and an old carthorse for emergencies (Shola). Focus would have to be his ability to play on the (left) wing effectively imho, keeping width, putting in crosses, etc.

There are four players in the world I can't stand. Pepe, van Bommel, Alba and Marchena. However, I can still admit Pepe is a good defender and if he could keep his head calm he would be seen as a better player. I can understand the other 3 but why poor old Jordi Alba? Diving t*** is my guess. There are many worse if that's his reason. Suarez for starters.

Away kit it will be. Home one is just -
(2 new strikers OR Cisse + one striker) + Gouffran + Campbell/Shola for one spot in the team, if we continue playing one lone forward, which you seem to advocate, wouldn't be enough why? I think it would be, and I would rather spend any extra money on bringing in a creative wide player capable of putting in a cross from the left and a capable central defender (Colo replacement + maybe an understudy) rather than on another striker on top of those.
-
Rightio HAHAHA it means f*** all mate. 3 assists or 6 assists, there's little difference over the course of the season and the latter figure certainly doesn't indicate that he was involved in creating more goals and/or chances. I don't even know where to begin with that post.
-
Assists don't matter do they?
-
Put it this way, if Cisse had done for another club, say Villa, what he has done for us since joining (i.e. one brilliant half season, one mediocre full season) would you be happy to pay 16 million+ for him?
-
Depends on whether we persist with a lone forward and what our plans for Campbell are next season. One new first team forward to challenge Cisse may be sufficient if we only want to play one up top (would require bringing in at least one winger for the left) and we see Campbell as fourth choice behind Cisse, new guy and Gouffran. Discounting Shola as an option obviously.
-
Me too, but it's irrelevant as keeping Cisse wouldn't mean we'd get another first team striker for nothing.
-
Probably a couple of places higher, but that's not really the point. Also, Chelsea would have done much better as well. Not sure how you can claim something so factual from an alternative reality scenario, especially considering Cisse's form this season past. I don't subscribe to this notion that the other players and Pardew failed Cisse any more than he failed them at all.
-
Nobody has said all our players are wank and we should accept offers for them. Nice try though.
-
Rather that than getting in an entire team of no marks tbf.
-
IF it is true that Anzi are in for him and are willing to spend EUR 18m or over, I could see Ashley going for that tbh.
-
Setting the transfer window alight early alright. Apparently after Diogo Viana and Milos Krasic today. Supposed to already have agreed deals with El-Hadji Ba, Cabral, Mobido Diakate and Valentin Roberge. It's certainly different!
-
Good point. With their penchant for a good deal at the expense of short term squad needs there is every chance we may not even get a suitable replacement in. Wouldn't sell unless we have at least two strikers coming in.
