Torn about this, assuming it's true. He's had a rotten season, but all in all I'd be willing to give him another chance to rekindle his earlier (Freiburg, NUFC first half season) form. My main worry with him is that he does not appear to work particularly well with other strikers/forwards, so it's a matter of building the team around him as the main striker or finding a replacement that suits our other players better.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a massive number of new players come in at Sunderland, mostly for low fees or on freebies, but on huge wages of course, most of whom will amount to nothing. Quantity over quality if you like. Didn't PDC have an incredible player turnover at Swindon Town too?

Worse than Bruce? I honestly think he might be, yes. At worse I'd say a tie. I think a lot of these other lesser managers would have done much better with the players Pardew had at his disposal, as for the most part they struggle to get enough decent players. They just buy some absolute crap. This is something Pardew doesn't have to worry about, as he has a scout that identifies and helps him get in players that are really quite decent, and he hasn't got a clue what to do with them still. How about last season? Would every other PL manager have got us to fifth and won manager of the year with that squad?

Just read a few posts on a Basel form. They seem to think he's a decent enough player who has been dropped to the bench unfairly this season.

A high profile move to one of the big leagues and one season of proving himself at that level would have probably meant going to the WC as well in his home country. Can't see Van Gaal checking him out regularly in f***ing Russia. Eh he would never have gone to the WC man. What you on about? Might as well and try to get as much money as possible in. The primary difference being Pardew had a season where he overachieved. The Sourness area was miserable from start to finish. And that's not even taking into consideration the difference in money made available to the both of them.
