Seen a fair bit of him, would probably compare him to Lillian Thuram but at LB. He's tall, physical and solid defensively. Does get forward but could probably improve that side of his game. If he develops as he has done so far he will become a top player. For reference, this is the post that compared him to LT

This is pretty much the perception of Newcastle United in Holland too I'm afraid.. Edit: what I mean is for example when Anita came to NUFC from Ajax, you could read/hear similar derogatory stuff about Newcastle in the Dutch press.

Just looked at the main FC Twente forum to see what they think, and the consensus seems to be they would rather keep him for the second half of the season than sell now for a few million. They're title contenders and apparently he has been the rock of their defense this season, so they think it would be risky to sell him now. Personally, I'd still have him here in a shot. If not now, I'd certainly try for a free transfer in the summer.

Been better than last season, best on what my brother-in-law, who is a Twente season ticket holder, says. It's been reported he's holding out for a free transfer to Germany.

When did we last get a player from Belgium, unless I'm forgetting somebody obvious? We seem to scout Holland as well, but there is not much attacking talent available at the moment. Graham Carr did mention Belgium in an interview last year. Did he? if so. I'm not sure which player he mentioned, but I'm sure he said he went to Belgium to see someone specific a fair bit. Possibly Cheick before Twente? Aye, I remember them saying they had scouted Tiote before he went to Holland, but that is years ago by now.

Also, we seem to be quite well respected in France, whereas our reputation in Holland is still somewhat that of a place where good players go to die.
