I don't think that's such an outrageous statement to make tbf. Maybe winning the title with weeks to spare is pushing it (a lot), but a prolific striker who nets 30 goals a season like Van Persie would make a world of difference to them, as it would do to Arsenal losing him. In fact, I'd say there's not all that much difference between the Liverpool and Arsenal squad if you take out Van Persie, so it's all hypothetical of course, but I think they'd quite comfortably be pushing for Champions League.

Good shout regarding Eljero Elia. Another similarly interesting option for the wings is Ola John at FC Twente. Both are similar talents to Junior Hoillett, who I fear will be in demand by bigger clubs than us.

Scored a few recently as well, will be quite cheap assuming they go down(havent checked the table for a few weeks) They are bottom, but if he keeps scoring the way he has, they'll stand a very good chance of surviving. If I was a club looking for a striker I would take a serious look at Maiga, who was close to signing for us until (presumably) we found out our first choice target Cisse was available. Considering our success in scouting players these days, it wouldn't surprise me if Maiga also turns out to be a world beater for whomever snaps him up.

Fully expect them to buckle under the pressure, especially after they celebrated their Man U home win like the title was already in the bag. 2-0 to us. Cisse and HBA to score.
