  1. Disagree. What it comes down to is a good result for our chance of finishing third (served best by a Chelsea win) reduces our chance of finishing in the top four/fourth (served best by an Arsenal win).
  2. people getting way ahead of themselves. Our result is obviously the most relevant to our chances of CL qualification, but it's not the only one that matters.
  3. Arsenal win: 3. Arsenal 35 - 67 4. Spurs 33 - 59 5. Newcastle 33 - 59 6. Chelsea 34 - 57 Draw: 3. Arsenal 35 - 65 4. Spurs 33 - 59 5. Newcastle 33 - 59 6. Chelsea 34 - 58 Chelsea win: 3. Arsenal 35 - 64 4. Chelsea 34 - 60 5. Spurs 33 - 59 6. Newcastle 33 - 59 Considering we still have to play Chelsea at their place and Arsenal have more points in the bag rather than points they could potentially get, my order of preference is: 1) draw, 2) Arsenal win, 3) Chelsea win. A draw means Chelsea will be almost out of it if we win today and next week; even if they beat us we stay ahead of them and there is a good chance Spurs will be out of sight anyway, so they will probably not play their strongest 11 against us with the cup final coming up days after. Also, a draw ensures Arsenal is still on edge and cannot afford to drop points or Spurs and/or us could go past them. Second best IMHO is Arsenal out of sight (with three relatively easy fixtures coming up and points in the bag) and Chelsea further behind, meaning a straight fight between us and Spurs. I can't see the benefit of a Chelsea win other than it's essentially a race between 4 teams for 2 spots, with the other 3 teams having easier fixtures, more experience and arguably stronger squads then us.
  4. Fuck it, rather than hoping for one team to beat the other and trying to work out what's best for us, I'm going to wish for as many injuries and sending offs as possible..
  5. Erm.. What? Do you really expect Chelseato be in front of two of us, tottenham and Arsenal, by the end of the season? Expect no, but it isn't impossible as you seem to suggest.
  6. Really don't know what outcome would be best for us in the Arsenal v Chelsea match..
  7. Anyone who thinks he's brilliant (Mick) want their heads checking. So does anyone who thinks he's absolutely shit, which is sort of the point Cajun is making.
  8. Unbelievable

    Paul knows the score..
  9. Every little helps. Thanks FA: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17781705
  10. For Kalou's sake I hope he moves to a club where he's a guaranteed starter. I think he'd do quite well and is capable of 15+ goals a season for somebody like Everton.
  11. Maybe as a Guthrie replacement, which would explain why we're dallying?
  12. Kinnear and Wise are both infinitely worse than Keegan or Shearer if you ask me.
  13. I did? I think he's realistic in terms of price tag and willingness to come here. I don't think I ever said it was a done deal?
  14. Someone on here said we were interested in Boilsen(sp?) the LB. Dunno if he played though He's been injured for nearly the entire season.
  15. Let's not even talk about it. It will take a very unlikely number of results for that to happen. Really? I think's it's now more likely that Chelsea win the CL than it is for us to get fourth. For us to f*** the chance of getting in the CL up ourselves I can handle (it's been a brilliant season regardless), but for it possibly to be snatched away from us due to a technicality would be heart-wrenching. Really, because for us to manage fourth would require results against Chelsea and/or Man City and/Everton, and for them to get results against Barcelona and Bayern or Real Madrid. I agree they are more likely to win the Champions League than we are finishing fourth, but both are still very unlikely. I agree they are both unlikely, but I don't see why it's something we should avoid talking about? We're talking about finishing fourth plenty after all.
  16. We've been linked to him before. Be interesting to see if somebody can find out if indeed there is a medical planned for tomorrow.
