I don’t see Potter’s decision to join Chelsea as idiotic. He was earning ~£1.75m a year at Brighton and then earned ~£15m in six months. His reputation is pretty much intact, he’s set for life financially and that was the worst-case scenario. There was also huge upside in the unlikely event that he did make it work.
