Previous links, mostly, going off of my gut. Playing for us at this point in his career might not be a guarantee for England, either. While we’re on the rise, I still think we have some catching up to do in regards to other big clubs in turning players heads. If given the option and we’re not in the CL, he 100% goes to one of those top 4 teams. (Spurs, Man U, Arsenal) Would love to be proven wrong as I rate him highly. I think we actually stand a better chance of signing him now if Leicester are bothered. He’s 100% going to a CL side this summer, really hope it’s us!

I’m not entirely convinced Maddison even fancies joining us. Think he would prefer ManU, Arsenal over us, even if he’s a rotating player for those sides.

Gallagher is suited to our style of play and I can see why Howe is an admirer of his. He was great for Palace and despite lacking the goals he has previously had, he still looks like one of the more effective players for Chelsea.

Be curious to know his contractual terms. They will be hard to beat when his influence is fully ingrained in the squad. They won’t create much and the football will be eye bleedingly boring.

I get where you’re coming from, mate, but there are some good eggs like @Neil and @1878 who aren’t what you describe. Some smarts amongst a sea of stupidity. I can empathize with the Scouse Mackems as their owners and executives running the club have seen them regress the last few years. Sean Dyche coming into save them is about as grim as it gets. We’ve all been there quite recently, but the toxic environment created by the support is ridiculous. I think Eddie, the squad, our fans behind him will do wonders for his confidence and he’ll be electric. I bet he scores at Goodison and sends them into hysterics and I’m here for it.

He looks an absolute unit. Like, Special Ops Military in the off season as part of his training regimen. Yup, couldn’t agree more and I think we will for the most part. I think it’s a much better route for sustainable success. Iterative building more often than not yields greater returns.

Which is what baffles me with Chelsea. They have a massive data/strategy team (worked with the marketing and fan engagement side previously) but are throwing around money at every player under the sun. Weird.

He did have a great World Cup and Salah’s form hasn’t been the best.

Would love to see their player acquisition strategy, probably have some ridiculous data modelling to unearth these gems.
