Incredibly refreshing to see a European team beat a PL side. Pity Villa are obviously gonna win the Europa. Competition's on it's arse.
-
Half time and there's Ange marching to the dressing room to stamp on the dying embers of his reputation within the squad.
-
Absolutely crap. Would happily gorge on an EFL-style full highlights package for the Europas.
-
Is there even a highlights show?
-
Bah. Flicked over to Villa for one minute.

Lost track of what the rule is in those situations now. If he's made an honest attempt for the ball it's a yellow, isn't it? Even if it's a denial of a goalscoring opportunity?

Think that's the first time I've ever seen a ref stick with his original call after a TV review.

Cute Tifo at the City Ground

Tino has generally been a 6/7 out of 10 at RB tbf. Absolutely exceptional on the opposite side though.

There was a moment in the second half where he had the ball in space and the nearest opposition player was at least 2/3 meters away. He did a tiny feint which gained him yet more space and he advanced towards the centre circle. Was only a very minor moment but felt like one of those "men against boys" moments, to all but put the pressing attacker on his arse from yards away.

Howe said 6-8 weeks in his post game presser too.

@Shearergol what's the story with Scunthorpe's apparent resurgence? Just vibes after a cleansing title win, or more to it? Running away with a huge win at York City tonight.

Brilliant strength and composure with the assist, with parity restored when he ended up on his arse off the ball on the next counter. That's wor Willie. In all seriousness, it's looking like a very good decision to keep him here, because he's going to get minutes all the time and relieve pressure on our most important strikers. Not only that but he's contributing something all the time too; there's only Leeds where he had a bit of a stinker.
-
I thought we were getting a very rough diamond but so far he's looked anything but. I'd keep him in ahead of Fabi tbh; looks like he's the future.
-
Really enjoy watching him play. Obviously sometimes, by the sheer number of defenders on his back, he'll lose it - but it's wonderful to watch a player and know that, when he gets it, he's gonna control it and do something positive.

Yeah. Delighted with the win and enjoyed us scoring four goals away from home, but it doesn't feel like a big achievement, which you might expect from winning in the Champions League. I said pre-match that it was our turn to demonstrate the gulf between the Premier League and everything else and that's just what we did. I think most teams in our league puts those guys away pretty easily. That's not to detract from our own performance; we played some lovely stuff at times and had a great mentality. Thoroughly enjoyable win.
