  1. I've had my best ever start to an FPL campaign and among the big bucks places in the work league; first time ever picturing glory in May. Felt like I got away with one last week to some extent though so have wild carded; backed Man City, Spurs and Bournemouth. Looking forward to Burnley's acca-spoiling 1-1.
  2. If they appoint a Sirtain someone, I'm sure things will pick up.
  3. He needs to get out of there the first chance he gets. They'll only go one way under Ange. Man Utd probably not the best destination right now but eventually they'll appoint someone who gets them settled. Could be a decent move for him.

    Alan Shearer

They all are; the whole pundit/podcast game is performative at least to some extent, it's just the nature of the industry. Everyone's an exaggerated version of themselves, some moreso than others, but the likes of him and Micah Richards are the A-listers where that is concerned. Then you've got the TalkSport class which is a whole other ball game. Fwiw I don't have an issue with it necessarily; you just have to take a lot of it with a pinch of salt.
  5. I get it, just feel like it's a bit wishful thinking. It's more probably more sustainable to sell than it is to keep, because he's just one position whereas the funds will provide for several. Disclaimer: post made with very rudimentary knowledge of how finances work in PSR
  6. I think it's our only option really. It's sad because he's somewhat unique, in that we rarely produce PL talent. But the backwards world of PSR requires us to operate like Man City etc; don't get too attached to homegrown players and turn the academy into a money-printing machine. Maybe not next summer though, unless he does feature loads this season and maximizes his value.
  7. I don't routinely go on Twitter so haven't seen the stick. Has he been copping it at the ground as well? Absolutely ludicrous if so. Anderson's progress makes for an extremely compelling argument for him to leave, like. Especially if he's getting flack off the moronic portion of the matchgoing fanbase.
  8. Lots of players were guilty of losing possession quite a bit; it was just a symptom of our set-up: trying to find gaps and make progress towards the box through the middle areas, rather than having the ball in wide areas, with our wingers isolated and crowded out by a low block. Bruno was brilliant. Absolutely everywhere and delivered two class assists.
  9. Feels like the best chance these have had at SJP for a few years. I know we need to get our show on the road eventually but I'd take a point and a good performance here. Will be very tough.
  10. Europa League started tonight. Relieved to see Forest fail to take maximum points on the road at Betis; would've meant immediate 'this average-to-poor PL team managed by an idiot is still better than anything Europe has to offer at this level' vibes, like last season. Dare say that'll come to pass anyway. The standard in that competition just looks so shoddy now with the expanded CL. No real notable other results I can identify. Roma won. Assume they'll be there or thereabouts.
  11. Was brilliant off the ball tonight too. Couple of big tackles and a lot of duels won.
  12. Tough, but glad we're at home. Hopefully we're in a position to go strong.

    Nick Woltemade

He really is very, very deft.

    Will Osula

Like him a lot but starting to feel like the Shola is very strong with this one. He was a good finisher, too.

    Joelinton

Absolutely loved him tonight. Not just the goals but he was crucial to our whole game-plan; lost count of the amount of times he received the ball in the middle and did something positive with it. We won't get to play with that much control in the middle of the park against PL teams obviously, but loved his link up. Certainly seemed to have a good connection with Thiaw.
  16. He was saucy against Barcelona where he had space to work with. Here though, they were deep and doubled-up on him; it wasn't a game for wingers at all, certainly not orthodox ones. Hence why the majority of our play went through the middle; CBs to Joe all night long. He's fucking rapid, mind. Easily one of the fastest I've seen in black and white. Looks like he's on fast forward when he gets on his bike. Every confidence that he'll do well here.
  17. Can't believe Bruno didn't put that one away, man. Gorgeous build up from Wolty and Jer.
  18. Ramsdale - 7 Krafth - 6 Thiaw - 8 Botman - 8 Hall - 7 Bruno - 9 Miley - 7 (would've been 8) Joelinton - 9 Elanga - 6 Osula - 8 Gordon - 7
  19. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Shame the finishing was so poor but we still got four, such was the quality of our build-up play. Obviously the opposition was inferior but that was men against boys; some really intricate and effective football - pleasure to watch. Delighted for many of the individuals, particularly Will Oshola, the mad bastard. Happy for the Newcastle fan in their team too.
