  1. You reckon we lose even if Tino stays on then?
  2. Just slightly, like. They've also really improved their options.
  3. Actually tbf it was maybe a five post-Tino wasn't it? Think I'm misremembering. Only it was very much a scratch effort with Burn at wing-back and Lascelles in the middle? Whatever it was; we have a far better shot at a result with Tino on the pitch.
  4. Seemingly I've misread but many people have all but said so. The point is I thought the game-plan had 'hard fought win/draw' all over it until the injury. We're playing a quality team and our attack is spearheaded by an expensive rookie who was gassed after an hour, and replaced by the Danish Shola. It's no great surprise to me that we were a bit passive and searching for opportunities on the break. @Doctor Zaius did we even get to a five? To me we were four for almost the entirety, other than a couple minutes before Tino went off. We might even win with the five tbh.

Did not expect him to be this good. Think he was pretty much perfect. Him, Botman and Burn as a trio of CBs is an outrageous barrier for any team. We'd have got a result if we'd been able to deploy that today.
  6. I find anyone saying that today is all on him absolutely risible tbh. Even Burn starting at LB did no harm. I think Saka got past him once; into any space at least. It's so clear to me that the game pivoted on the Tino injury. The CBs and Pope were dealing with absolutely everything prior to then; reducing them to the odd half-chance here and there. Then when we got to the point in the game where we could go all-out-defence with the five, I felt extremely confident we could get it over the line because we're so hard to break down. Maybe there is some criticism to be thrown at him for how he reacted to the Tino injury but frankly I dunno what I'd have done differently. Put Hall on the bench, I guess. Seems a weird choice to keep him away from the squad altogether. Clearly we felt that the four was susceptible to being breached, hence the switch to five, and what do you know; that's what happened. Merino's goal is an absolutely beauty and you have to say, fair enough, Arsenal deserve at least a point. But I would never, ever have begrudged us one of those shithousing, all out defence results for us. We'd have earned it. Then Pope undid his incredible performance with one moment of utter madness. Fail to see how it's all on Howe. I said it the other day but, to my absolute dismay, we're going into another four-competition season which is becoming totally dictated by injuries. If Tino is properly fucked it is an absolute piss-take. He's probably been our best player all season.
  7. The moment Tino's injury was apparent I feared the worst. Before then I felt really confident about us going into that super solid back five that we'd see it out and at least get something. Tino's injury mean we drop two points. Pope's lunacy loses us the one. Just devastating. Mix of misfortune and self-sabotage. Definitely share concerns about the attacking play but FFS, we lost Isak and his replacement. Wolt is doing his bit but he's a project player.
  8. I've no beef with us sitting back generally. Pretty confident we see that out with the very robust back five we've deployed plenty of times this season. They didn't have any major chances in the second half.
  9. Extremely painful. We get a result of Tino stays on tbh. Ludicrous from Pope but we see that out with the change to the back five we wanted. Another game with the Wissa injury looking absolutely brutal, too. Injuries knackering us more than anything really. Sigh.
  10. Can't believe Pope went and did that after the game he's had.
  11. Exceptional header. Sigh. We'll do well to hang on now.
  12. Massive issue in this game n'all like.
  13. The way he's reacting it's like he knows he's fucked. Christ man.
  14. Oh my god. Stretcher and straps. He's fucked.
  15. Tino is so vital to us ATM. Really is shades of two seasons ago if he's fucked.
  16. Tino suddenly key to everything we do now he's LWB.
  17. Wolt should be getting on the end of that. Do like the look of him but alarmed by his lack of striker's instinct so far.

    Joelinton

Feel like he tends to struggle against teams who swarm our midfielders, like they have some today. He'll prove his worth with his physicality and shithousery though.
  19. Arsenal were absolutely all over us but didn't take their chances. Asking for trouble when there's a scruffy baller up top for the opposing team. Wouldn't even have been overly critical of our performance of we's gone behind; they just had our number up to that point. Always a man over, never giving us any space. Huge goal for us
  20. How are they still whinging about that 'push'
  21. Gonna get out arses handed to us at this rate mind. Need to keep it at their end for more than four seconds.
