Don't get it. They're our best centre-midfield combo.

you're very optimistic aren't you? Why do you have very little arms? Eh? Look closer. Whoosh. Wow, in that case that was one of the worst overhead/whooshings I've ever come across. A shocking attempt. bluebigrazz.gif Whoosed, simple as. bluebigrazz.gif Terrible whooshing attempt, simple as. bluebigrazz.gif I don't get it... i attemped to whoose someone and i succeeded. How's it a terrible attempt? (It's an important matter to me). ;-)

Viduka is just what we need imo. Someone who'll simply stand in the box and put the ball in the net. Sibierski could do that but his movement isb't very good and he isn't very good with the ball at his feet. Viduka is exceptional with his back to goal, therefore would work well with Martins. He's what we need in the fact that we simply need a presence in the box. He is that. If he was going for £2m, i'd take him straight away. Would also be a good squad player next season. Wouldn't go any higher than £3m, though.

Doesn't take away from the fact that he's adored at Rangers and most Rangers fans would probably welcome him back with open arms...

I really hope for Souness' sake that he does get offered the job at Rangers. I never disliked the man Souness, and i suppose i can look back in pity for him now; i like everybody else was spitting blood when he was here. Souness was simply out of his depth with us, or in the Premiership on the whole for that matter. A league of the standard of the SPL or the Championship, which have an equal sort of standard i'd reckon, is certainly more his sort of league. How four, five first English tier teams appointed him i'll never know. I'd like to see the guy back in management. He was honest and gave his absolute all, he was just shit at the job in this division. I'm sure that he'd do a good job at one of his favourite clubs, if not his very favourite. It's his club in that respect, like Bobby managing us but to a lesser extent. I dare say he deserves it? Probably not... but i'd simply like to see him do well with a club - because i craved for him to do well with us, even though i hated how shit he was, simply because i liked the man himself. One thing i don't want to see is Billy Davies go there. 'We' need him... we being Derby: my second team.

DEFINITELY. Would love to see Shearer come in as a coach simply for Martins' sake.

His movement's poor. He's quality and he's 22. End of thread.

Titus Bramble as good as Wes Brown... Do i need the emoticon?

Not entirely sure. The truth about Milner is though, despite him not scoring many goals for us, he's got a heck of a peg on him and he's taken the odd special free-kick for us when the ball's been fairly central. See the Ventspils game earlier in the season, he rattled the bar with an absolute peach of a free-kick in that game.

over ambitious tbh. I just wanted to keep with club tradition and buy over priced , over rated and medicore players tbh. Bitch!

Depends what sides it's on. And Nobby's a defender now, so if they broke quickly and he was over in the corner... Agree to some extent about the corners - Emre should probably take them (or Milner?). But in regards to the free-kicks, i don't think it matters what side he's on. Nobby's a set-piece specialist, or atleast used to be so not all of the talent will have gone, and he is still capable of whipping an absolutely delightful ball into the box. See Sibierski's header v Manu. Nobby should take our free-kicks...

Indeed Sicko, the only thing that doesn't write this season off completely is the fact that we're in Europe. And if we get knocked out in the Last 16 or Quarter-final, which we've got every chance of doing, coupled with a mid-table finish and early exit in the FA Cup, this season will probably be totally and utterly forgotten. Unless... I've got a canny feeling about the Waffa this year. If we beat Alkmaar/Fenerbahce in the Last 16 i'm going to be getting very, very excited.

Milner doesn't want to leave. He's loving it at Newcastle and rightly so. He's developing into a cracking player. He's not leaving. He's not going to go. He'll be a Newcastle player in February. We're hanging onto him. There's no way on Earth that James Milner is leaving. He's black and white and hear to stay. He's not going. He's staying put. How many frigging times?
-
Infuriates me every single time i see Emre standing over a corner or an attacking free-kick instead of Nobby.
-
If we brought in three/four decent loan signings that would significantly bolster our squad and help us on our European run... i'd be happy enough. The only position i'd desperately like us to see 'majorly' strengthen in January is left-back. But on the whole, i think for the striker situation in-particular, we brought in a cheap stopgap type player, like Viduka or Beattie. But i doubt Viduka will leave now.
-
Think my post pretty much sums up my preference of loaning strikers to concentrate the budget on the defense... tbh. ;-) "Striker..." "very cheap or loan..."
-
Sounds good, but i would rather have Carew.........Or Evangeline Lilly :winking: No nowt about Carew, and i doubt Roeder knows much either. Beattie however, everyone knows he has got the quality. In my opinion, all he needs is a new club to kick-off from once again. He's not made it at Everton, and will never do. Both are a risk, but i'd rather go for the risk that is already proven in the Premiership.
-
Premiership: Reading. Aston Villa. Newcastle. Everton. Championship: Leeds. Cardiff. Derby. Don't really know tbh.

Wright-Phillips and Riggott for Milner? Toughy... i'd probably stick with Milner. SWP may well never be the same player ever again, a la Duff, and Riggott his hardly a world-beater, i'd prefer us to buy someone more assuring if we're going for centre-backs. Milner on the other hand could well turn out to be top, top class. Would have loved Diarra... but Makelele is just warming his seat.

My mind changes from one week to the next regarding transfers, so i don't know how valid an input i can provide. Let's say we have got this rumoured £10m to spend. I believe that we crave a quality defender more so than a quality, expensive striker. If we go blowing £7/8m more on another striker this window, i'll be annoyed - because we simply don't need one. We need a stopgap striker like Viduka or Beattie that will do us a job until the end of the season, and slip down the pecking order when Owen (and Shola perhaps) return. Defenders, however. I would love to see us go all out for Leighton Baines - who is already an excellent full-back and will develop into an superb player. I believe that he will have his suitors, and he won't come cheaply, but Wigan are very average this year and wage packets are a strong catalyst. I'd much rather see that £6/7/8m spent in this area, left-back primarily - the weakest position in the entire team. We could do with a centre-back - though it isn't vital. I think i would be content if we concentrated our defensive budget on left-back, and didn't even bring in another centre-back. This is because the players in that position are improving, and we've got a lot of them anyway with Moore and Bramble to come back. Although, it's a shame that we're not going for Distin. I'd love to see us bring Wes Brown in if we were going to sign a centre-back, i think he is a quality defender when he's fit - he's also experienced - but i think he depends on how big our budget is. We're going to need a striker, no doubt about it. But probably a very cheap one or on loan if things go according to plan (my plan ;-) ). I'd have liked Viduka, but i think he's nailed a regular place in the Boro team and they won't let him go now. So i'd opt for James Beattie - who in my opinion is doubtless a good player, just that he's done nowt at Everton. A player at his age, who had so much potential, doesn't just all of a sudden become a bad player. If we could loan him or pay minimal for him, i'd be pleased. Leighton Baines Wes Brown James Beattie ... would be cracking.
