There was wall-to-wall praise for this season's mind. You're right, we're always far too hasty either way, but I think there's a bit of disappointment at the realisation that - these days, with brands like Adidas and Nike, you don't get a Newcastle kit. You get the Adidas kit, in Newcastle colours. The templates are so pervasive now and next season's is pretty meh. It's a pity if the 'fangs' can't be used as an opportunity for something unique for every team. Some of the international kits are using them for a bit of flair, and unique collar details too. For instance you could have a flicker of orange/white/blue on the fangs on the leaked away kit as a nod to the Brown Ale logo. As it stands it's just looking like a really bland, unadventurous and inferior copy. Should wait for the real thing like you say but I simply can't resist.

Have always agreed with that but I think it's branded to sound deliberately subservient to the others, which is a shame.

Attended an EFL relegation shit-off yesterday, as Huddersfield and Birmingham all but demoted one another. Was a remarkable sight seeing both teams crestfallen on the pitch at full time, but by God was there a dearth in quality; barely distinguishable from some of the more competitive contests I've observed at York City. Our seats were among the rowdier of the home support, which I have to say was quality because everyone spent the whole match standing. That was my first experience of that at a big game and I would say - without question - that it would be my preferred way to watch football. In true football tourist fashion I missed Hudds' equaliser as I was stood on the concourses with an inch of bad lager in a cracked plastic cup. Mrs' missed both goals for the same reason. Scum, sub-human scum.

15 mill is cloud cuckoo land imo. On top of all the other reasons why you wouldn't spend real money on him, he's only got a year left on his contract as of this summer. If he's going, then the best we can hope for is a loan and a fond farewell at the end of next season. I think we'll end up just keeping him tbh.

I don't think this really applies in Bruno's case, personally. If you can make an absolute killing on an asset then it's in your interests to explore that. Like I said in my last post, that isn't new in football I don't think. Coutinho to Barca is the example that always comes to mind.

If we want to be good sellers then he goes this summer imo. I believe now is when we'll get maximum funds for him because of his age and also because I don't know how much more he can take before he starts to burn out a bit. Not with this amount of responsibility. That's a bit of a depressing take I know, but I don't even think it's really a modern football/PSR thing. Football clubs that operate well sell their players on their terms and for big fees - that has been the case for decades now and there's basically two or three teams for whom that is an exception, if at all. Personally I believe that we can absorb the loss moreso than we could someone like Isak.
