still a possibilty of this falling through if that moaning French tw@t doesn`t agree terms with them "Ryan Taylor has been here for the last two days. He can play both full- back positions, wide positions and is a good player. I’ll be disappointed if that falls through because we can’t agree a deal for Charlie." -

where does it say that? ridiculous if true -
not surprised Shola lasted the 90 mins with the way he strolls around the whole game

don`t think Xisco has done that bad when he`s been given the odd chance tbh. Starting to think there is some truth in this extra 2.5m payment thing if he makes a certain number of appearances which is why we refuse to play him or in JFK`s case , not even acknowledge him "we only have 1 fit striker in Carroll" malarky

Ameobi forced to play Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear has confirmed that Shola Ameobi - who scored the crucial equaliser in their draw with local rivals Sunderland on Sunday - was forced into action. Kinnear revealed that the 27-year-old striker was pressed into playing as Michael Owen, Mark Viduka and Obafemi Martins were all sidelined. Ameobi smashed home a 68th minute penalty to level for Newcastle, after Djibril Cisse had given Sunderland a first-half lead, but Kinnear revealed he struggled during a fitness test on Sunday morning. "I gave him a fitness test this morning. He said he was feeling it [his injury], but I said, 'You still have to play'," said Kinnear. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4884156,00.html

not implying he`s better than Beye at all.......just that Beye was not playing at his usual high standard if you compare his form from this season (the limited games he has had that is) to last season. No doubt in the majority of peoples minds that Beye would be 1st choice rb when fit

The Irish international keeper signed for City on Sunday evening, and mcfc.co.uk sat down with him afterwards to find out more about his decision to move here after 12 distinguished years on Tyneside. “It's exciting times at Manchester City with the new owners and this manager,” Shay told us, “there are big plans for the Club. I am very excited to be joining and delighted that Manchester City wanted my services, I'm happy that the two clubs could come to an agreement. “I have two young kids, I had just moved house in Newcastle and there were a few things that could have made me stay there. I have a lot of friends there, and the supporters there are fantastic. They have been great to me for so many years, and I thank them for that. But I just felt that this was an opportunity for me to come to a club that in my opinion are really going to be going places. “I am even really excited to be going training on Monday, it's a new chapter in my life and one I am looking forward to. “The profile of the Club has changed dramatically, and there are already some fantastic players here. It looks like some good players will come here in the future as well, and I am sure the fans must be on the edge of their seats to see who comes here. There is already the nucleus of a very good team here, and I hope I can add to that. I am just delighted that they have chosen me to strengthen their goalkeeping department as well.” -
would rather keep him at right back for sure, he almost gifted the Mackems the game on two occasions in his 5 minute stint at centre half.

like Fenton? (currently playing/coaching at Blyth Spartans, can`t believe that lad gets away with living up here)

i'm beginning to agree that his beast position could well be right back with a capability to cover centre half. as much as i like beye ,taylor wa as good as beye has been this season in that position whilst I agree he has been as good as Beye at right back this season he doesn`t have the same influence. With Beye at the back we kept clean sheets and had more confidence in defence.
