Those competitions weren't won cause RDM is a special coach more that Chelsea have spent a billion on players in the last few years...Drogba won the CL single handed, fronting a side sitting so deep they were barely on the pitch. See this is the thing about Pards he doesn't give a balanced response there is always and agenda.

Tevez was played as a winger. If that isn't enough about Pards and all his guff I don't know what is. Case rested.

Wey, It seems as though the two managers didnt fancy Tevez (cant actually find anything online about pards dropping him yet) but doesnt it tell you more about Tevez at the time? West Ham striker Carlos Tevez insists the only surprise in the sacking of Alan Pardew was that it did not come sooner. The Argentina international joined the Hammers along with compatriot Javier Mascherano in a shock deal just before the closure of the summer transfer window, but has struggled to make an impact. Pardew was dismissed as West Ham manager last week, with Alan Curbishley swiftly appointed as his successor, and Tevez insisted things had not been "going right" for some time. Tevez told the News of the World: "I was surprised to see how long Pardew held on to the job in the end. In Argentina or Brazil he would have been out long ago. It was clear the team did not react as he wanted -- it wasn't going right." He added: "I was never given the chances I thought I would be given and I was told to play out of position against my will. "I had to sacrifice myself for the team which I don't think helped. I was playing in ways I did not understand well and I lost a lot from my own game. It didn't fit where he put me, but I wanted to help." Tevez is yet to score a competitive goal for the Hammers, but is eager to put that right. They used to kick it up the park mate to Carlton Cole and Harewood (A Pards signing). Not all the time granted. If he had he'd have been lynched.

"Some of the best football seen at upton park? Bollocks did he. You mean the man who preferred Hayden Mullins over Javier Mascherano and wouldn't play Tevez and nearly had us relegated. Yeah what a legacy he left us." WHAM

The supporters at West Ham hated his style. The long balls to the likes of Cole and Harewood. Tevez and Masch benched cause he had a huff with them. THOSE are FACTS. Reminded me of those games where he preferred Obertan to Hatem (Obertan is the only player he had a hand in recruiting btw). If you remember Hatem had to play miracle football when he got his chance to stay in the side. I mean he had to perform like Maradona and then the supporters started calling for him every game. Honestly it felt like touch and go if he'd every get into Pards good books or be discarded. I remember it well. Pretty sure it was Curbishley who benched Tevez no? http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/10/14/article-0-013EAD82000004B0-24_468x298.jpg The row is well documented.

No he didn't have to play like Maradona, Hatem had to get match fit after missing a year of football after a broken leg and also learn that if he wanted to be in the team he would have to fit into the "team work ethic". Pardew handled HBA brilliantly last season and has probably made him a better player if you've listened or heard any of Hatems interviews he says the same. This is the myth Pards spread and was swallowed hook line and sinker. As is clear from the above. I remember him bigging up Obertan performance after performace when we could all see he was timid on the ball and had no heart. Played 15 games in a row didn't he??

The thing is Inochi, IMO (and maybe this is where we diverge in footballing philosophy terms ), results eventually follow performances. It may take five games, it may take ten, it may take forty-eight () but a failure to address our inability/unwillingness to control games - particularly against weaker opposition (the Norwichs, QPRs, Wolves, Blackburns etc) will begin to effect results too, because any streak of results which isn't driven by performance is very, very vulnerable to a loss of momentum*. I fear for our immediate future. [* - except for those teams who wholeheartedly and unashamedly commit to grinding - ie. Stoke, who consequently also have a glass ceiling on how good they can ever be - something we do not want] Totally agree. We got a result too many times last year just holding on and playing percentage football. In this league that will only get you so far. One or two key players start to underperform and poof it's all over. Think also the players are beginning to wonder what's going on.

  15. RDM out Benitez in. Then the new nightmare will start.
  16. Obviously will be claiming a goal if they don't get out the group.
  17. I'm using his headgear to beam messages to him.
  18. Teams have caught onto that imo by the way they press us this season. I think so too. After last year, they've all been watching the tapes and so on.. I know they're playing on instruction, but it's not even done with any discipline or care most of the time. There seems to be a fear of the midfield moving up and increasing the posession phase by one or two rotations and letting players interchange or find space. I realise there are times when a long ball is dangerous but we don't really play it like that. It's more into general areas.
  19. Shameful really. There have been games where we've mixed it up more, but under pressure certain players just launch it.
  20. It was like chess man. Deserved a goal.
  21. Stoke showing Pards what a rehersed set play looks like. Magnificent goal.

Good read. And that description of Santon is excellent : It's way over the top that article, and the description of Santon is way too simplistic. More managers than Pardew have decided he's a LB. The problem is that we don't have anyone in midfield or fullback who can stretch the game. And we don't have any other fullbacks either. I'm worried about our form too, but a lot of stuff that is a symptom of poor results, injuries, suspensions and a hangover from a brilliant season are being put down as permanent flaws IMO. The manager and the team have earned the time to turn things around. That's true to an extent but the point stands, Santon's runs come to nowt because he's a right-footed player playing on the left. It's the same with Jonas who also (used to) makes promising runs with no end product. The left side of our team sums up the downside of the club's transfer policy. We wouldn't pay Enrique the market rate so he left for a club that would. We therefore needed a left back but bought a right back who has played a bit on the left because was available at a knock down price following a bad injury. When then sign a left midfielder who was also available on the cheap due to injury issues who has started about three games in a year and a half. The net result is we can't play 442 due to lack of end product and fluidity down the left - a problem we got round by playing 433. Unfortunately we can't seem to use that formation anymore in case BA gets p*ssed off and activates his release cause, which was the price we paid for getting yet another player on the cheap. Simplistic I know but I hope it illustrates the point. santon creates little for the same reason ben arfa creates little when he gets wide of his man, because there is fuck all happening in the middle, no midfielders cutting in behind, no split of forwards to front and back post, you can hit the bye line as much as you want, the opposition me even let you do it, if the mocvement in and around the box is poor or non existent then it's pointless. last season had santon swung a leg when cutting in he could/should have scored a couple, so good were the positions he'd cut into, this season with everything being so rigid the gap isn't there to do it. Should have more shots the positions he gets into.
