    RIP sale thread.

As supporters baby we know what all that means and on that level I agree with you. If I were a businessman I wouldn't pay more than 25m for the club, knowing what it's going to take to get it back to the PL over 3 years. The club has no assets, apart from the crowd revenue and if you don't get out of the CCC within the first 2 years or so 66% never come back and that is a fact.

Maybe my rich mans bet cospiracy theory wasn't just about relegation.Perish the thought. Personally I think he's run out of real money. He might have assets but I doubt he's liquid to any great degree. Hope I'm wrong. I think he started running out of cash last summer hence the bodged sale attempt and the inflated price.

The club is as good as bankrupt. Please stop. The main reason MA surrounds himself with cunts is cause he can rely on them not to spill the beans. It wasn't silly appointments, but people he needed to keep the truth from getting out. Frankly I'll be amazed if anyone pays 100m.

A few people apparently. Whichever way you look at it Newcastle has bags of potential and so would be a good investment. So people keep saying. I've seen less bias in the Daily Mail. Its not an opinion, its a simple fact. A club that can produce the 13th largest turnover in world Football after finishing lower-mid table has massive potential, but if its run by a bunch of fuckwits obviously its not going to be realised. By the way Parky a turnover of £50m isn't far off what some Premiership clubs get. He's been trying to flog it for 2 years now, I guess people just aren't getting the new fragrance. What you talkin bout willis? I wonder who could be trying to sell what in this thread. Wake the fuck up!! What did that post have to do with my post?, simple enough question isn't it? The tedious and mind drivelling essence of your 'post' was that somehow the club was attractive was it not???

So you're saying looking at the situation objectively it doesn't seem like an attractive proposition? We used to get the third biggest crowds in the country man. Fyp True (despite the fail ) but it shows the room for growth and therefore profit in the future for any buyer. Football is a poor investment.

Of course it's a basket case and has been for some years, although some will tell you everything was fine and dandy until Ashley took over.... If £100k is the price and the new owner is expected to service £115k of debt due to Ashley then yes it's a joke. If the price is £100m with Ashley's debt written off let's see. Just consider what, for example, a club like Everton would have to spend to get a stadium like ours. I know which scenario is more likely,as does,I expect,99.9% of this forum. The biggest stadium in oblivion. A new play I'm writing.

Can't really argue with that. The asking price would be fair at around 40-50m.

Looking forward to see who in their right mind will pay 100m for a CCC club with a new turnover of under 50m and half a team missing.

    Administration?

Well he might have meant that but if he did he's missing the point of administration, because that would generate far less money for investing in the team. My point is if Ashley wants to sell various assets to make money to keep the club running then he's better off selling them himself then paying administrators to do it. If he sells them himself he can negotiate the best deal and the entire fee will be available to use as he see's fit. If he brings administrators in they will then have the power to sell Ashley's assets for whatever price they decide, take a large chunk themselves and decide where they want the money to go (so Ashley may not see a penny of it and he will have no say in that what so ever). Selling a player for £4 million when you still owe £5m on him isn't desirable no. However bringing administrators in who may then decide to sell that same player for £3m pocket £250,000 themselves and give the other £2.75m to the club we still owe £5m too is even less desirable! The point is MA doesn't want to put anymore money in, it would be about him formally letting go of the scenario. Glad to see people have finally understood the players are worth jack shit.

Ah reality, I'd almost forgotten what it looked like! Sell who to who for what? We still owe money on the key ones - Collo, Guti, Martins. Reality indeed. Owen, Viduka, Cacapa and Geremi we get nowt for. Eh? How does that contradict any of what he said? "He would easily sell players any players".... Is not what he said. What did he say? It's up there ^^^^ why do you need me to tell you? Listen Einstein how do you sell players cut price when you STILL OWE MONEY ON THEM?

Agree with all of that. But, after admin the club could be bought for peanuts.....You see my thinking? Not really. The only people who can put the club into administration are the creditors or the directors of the company, both of those bases are covered by Ashley. So he's the only one who can elect for administration and I don't know why he would. There is still the costs concerning running of the club (roughly 20m every 3 months) and monies owed on transfers £5m on Colo alone. It's complex but with MA refusing to put more money in.......I can only see him dropping the asking price to say 50m in the coming weeks. If I was a prospective buyer I hold all the cards and would wait it out. I'm no expert and just thinking aloud.

If Ashley could sell it for around £50m (and he could, easily) why would he let it go for something measly like 5p in the pound. End of thread. Could being the operative word. The longer this goes on the closer we get to liquidation. MA has said he isn't going to put anymore money in. The answer to all our problems is a mega rich buyer, but where are they?
