It is well documented that Sven with his various contacts with super-agents knew all about these players.

What's all this about jpd?

Rather that than keep the manager and f**k up the next few seasons. Mick it was clear from the fallout they never took to SA and MA for some time wasn't happy with the football being offerred. Why not sack him earlier or wait till the summer? Don't come at me with your ridiculous melodrama my point has plenty of merit.

Its what Sven did, but then again i do live next door to him. Not in January with the end of the window looming and three big games to prepare for he didn't. Sven's first signing was actually Bianchi. Whoops. Wullster are you really opening up guns on Sven? Check the table mate. They're 7th and out of form. Great. I'm not "opening up guns" on anyone. I'm suggesting that our manager shouldn't start pissing money up the wall on random foreigners. Apologies if that doesn't appeal to the more hysterical of our support. Your argument is clearly sound and as much as my instinct says we need a couple of players, it probably isn't prudent to spend biggish money now. Is for why I was critical of the timing of the sacking (if it was a sacking). I'm a little surprised the club doesn't seem to have been tracking any good players which may or may not have been suggested to KK. TT has a point in the sense that even one good signing in this window would give the whole side a lift especially the stagnant midfield.

Well I guess if you sack a manager just as the window begins you're basically fucking up that window. Ah well.

When you've got fuk all its worth taking a reasonable risk on someone, Barnes, Arshivan is a reasonable risk imo. Most of those duds have come as very good palyers who've done well in the league and look how that turned out. How is Arshavin or whatever his name is a "reasonable risk", can you explain that to me? Short of you being a *insert name of whoever the hell he plays for here* season ticket holder on the sly or at least having some sort of subscription to The Ruski Channel, I fail to see how you could possibly know that. Done well in Europe (nearly one in two in the Eufa cup) and NT level and has interested a lot of top clubs in Europe, some a lot bigger than ourselves, that's how its a reasonable risk. Every player is a risk FFS, surely a one with obvious talent isn't so much of one? So you need to attend 50 games to have an opinion on a player? You've just described Albert Luque there, you realise that? The UEFA Cup is fucking shit mate, you know that as well as I do. Until the quarters, you play teams from Israeli mountain villages. Let's say he turns out to be shit, hardly out of the realms of possibility, KK's spent £10m on him, do you think Ashley's going to be overjoyed when he comes for more money in four months and Keegan says "Sorry, but he looked good on a video"? Also describes Elano. You're not allowed to mention Elano. lol

Do not agree witrh this. Who in your opinion then are the bottom 6 that are on a par with us, our of interest? We've kinda made ourselves look shit by struggling to take points off every team below us. I reckon we need about 40 points. Agreed, but I kinda promised myself to drop out of this thread before I became known as one of the negative fans

Comolli was Monaco's youth coach for a number of years, then got the job as chief european scout for Arsenal, did a fantastic job there, then moved on to being DOF at St. Etienne before moving to Spurs. Arnesen was Robson's assistant at PSV then DOF for ten years, discovering dozens of major talents and widely considered the best spotter of South American talent in europe. so by the time Spurs appointed those two they had far more experience and expertise in the role than Dennis Wise. i couldnt care less what nationality the DOF is, in fact since there are very few, if any, british DOFs about it makes more sense to look abroad for one. You know we're tempting fate by re-appointing KK. This might be the appointment that crosses the line and makes the football gods angry. Still as in the case of KK it's so left field it might work.

On many levels it doesn't make sense I agree.

looking at how ashley runs his business he seems to favour blokes he knows and has worked with before, usually old fashioned types who have worked their way up from the bottom like him, rather than outsider fancy pants with their new fangled approaches. he did appoint an outsider to the Sports Direct board recently but he quit, citing the fact he couldnt work with ashley and co. this unique approach hasn't done him too badly at all but not sure the same will always work in football. Jesus Christ!

Perhaps the 'rumour' that he was behind the Smith purchase is also true god forbid. I really can't see MA trying to piss KK off mind.
-
My mind has already given up trying to understand any of this.

Holy fucking shit. Might be better just to log off for the day I can't take anymore.

Top post.
-
Who could have foreseen this? Even for us we're moving into uncharted territory.
-
Whatever you do don't look at our remaining fixtures.
-
Looks like it will happen as well. No real idea of his abilities as a possible DOF.
-
Lack of proper spending as well.
-
We need a few new players and hopfully the new spin from mission central (having trouble finding better than what we have) is designed to breathe new life and confidence into our dunces rather than the actual reality. Not sure we should really be buying Woodgate.
-
Yup. Bit concerned about these comments about not being able to find players to buy as there aren't any available better than what we've got...The last bit is clearly cackola.
-
Well this is Rafa's angle. He has to be allowed to spend wildly and continuously and still be outside the top 4. lol Not sure what's going on with the debt, but some of the recent figures looked a little crazy.
-
OOOoooOOO Rafa!! It can't go on like this. lol

Actually without Martins around our build ups could probably apply for OAP bus passes.
