  1. It's curious for me and I must say I'm intrigued what with him almost in self exile from professional footie. With the footie circus thing it is an attempt to regain his shamanistic powers....to go deep inside.
  2. Agree Kitty he needs to get in a modern coach to balance our approach.

Erm, he wasn't exactly a rousing success anywhere, was he. There were better options out there, is the point. Of course there are better options, but Ashley has decided to live the dream and if this means the release of gargantuan amounts of funds....Let's take that ride.... ...on the love rollercoaster.... ...baby!

    The impact of KK...

This. Plus, those 2nd places were how long ago? exactly. He has one hell of a task on his hands. Expectations are going to be waaaay too high. The majority of people (not necessarily those on here) are going to expect him to get us in a similar position to where he left us. I'm not saying all Keegan-backers are like this, but I guarentee there will be some. And this attacking football business, if we honestly try to play like we did 11 years ago, we're facing relegation. The Arsenal team of 2008 would have totally raped the Newcastle team of 1996. Couldn't beat Birmingham last week. Seriously doubt it. Let them worry about us for a change. Def footie is now passe in the PL elite anyway bar Liverpool and it's got them nowhere.

  7. I wouldn't get taken in by these things, professional antagonisms are rife in football and vanity floods throughout the game like an epidemic. lol Owen might actually come into his own under KK.

Suddenly my £100m spend thread becomes a reality. KK is a special kind of person and I respect him for taking this challenge on now. I'm betting he will be mentally stronger this time round. This appointment is clearly a risk what with him being in the football wilderness. On the one hand I'm slighlty dissapointed for the lack of vision...On the other hand this IS A BIG BIG PLAY! What Ashley is showing with this is that he isn't afraid of raising the stakes. This IS all in!
  9. He should really do his best to stay away from the press and put himself in scenarios where he has to comment on us. My opinion of him is really taking a dive through this episode. He seems to have a ridiculously false sense of importance regarding being able to manage/coach. He really needs to get involved with coaching or do an assistants job in a couple of foreign countries and show he really wants to know all about the game and that he has something to bring to the table. Managing a club in the PL is just so much more than being a figurehead or leader. Passion and commitment is nowhere near enough these days, real football nous and vision is required.
  10. Wow .. I would have Arsenal's defence over Liverpools anyday. Kolo, Gallas, Sagna and Clichy? Yes please. And Man United's and Chelsea's to be fair ...I'm making a point of not comparing them to ManU and Chelsea. Liv and Arsenal have a similar type of squad...ManU squad this year is in another league. Chelsea have faltered but they have a new manager and are buying again. Oh and Kaka...Arsenal have conceded 17 goals and Liv 14.
  11. Not another favourite? Eh? http://www.rfi.fr/actufr/images/055/foot_desailly220.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b9/Didier_Deschamps.jpg The way I tell them apart is, one is a f*cking lazy thick n***** and the other is Desailly. OMG!!11
  12. So they wouldn't have failed the first test after all then? No they've failed the first test clearly. This is now the second test. The first test being replacing a manager with some decorum and planning and at a time beneficial to the club. They did the second part, every extra game under Fat Sam was damaging us more. Baggies miffed cause his fav pensioner ain't taking over or his sudden found love of Redknapp hasn't bourne fruit either. Where as Parky is sulking because he didn't think we would get a top manager even though he wanted Allardyce over Sven in the Summer. The day we hired SA I had Sven as my avatar, dear. Good try. For me are the dark horses and will surprise many under the astute stewardship of Sven who I would have had here if Allardyce wasn't available http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=43276.msg936087#msg936087 Nice try indeed, if you want to carry on this point scoring craic though like you're NE5's fluffer then carry on, otherwise zip it. You were happy with Redknapp. We'll leave it there shall we? lol

I've been criticising the process we're going through as have many others.

  17. Deschamps - Class. A masterstroke if Morticia gets this one in the bag.
  18. People should be comparing Liverpool to Arsenal. No differance in quality of squad and Liv have a better defence and better keeper. The main problem I've found in my study of Benny is he keeps the full backs too chained.
  19. He's got a world class football mind which is half the battle. Wasn't afraid to tell Juve to fuck off either.
