  1. Being passionate isn't enough as England's continued failure stands testament. Success doesn't come with huff and puff and high tempo either...It comes with insight and a good understading of the modern game. Shearer doesn't have that yet. On what evidence is there to base this on? For what the obvious?

  3. Butt and Geremi are the core of the problems. One dimensional, on the backend of their careers, bad pitch coverage, can't pass..Geremi especially seems frightened when he gets the ball. Clods around...Has he trained himself to run on his heels or is it some bizarre circus trick.
  4. Tactically naive? Wrong choice.
  5. Basically they need to confer with professionals to get the right man. Wenger has offerred to help and Venables has come out and said he wasn't really allowed to help McGinge...So what was he doing there anyway?
  6. "The selection process is fundamentally flawed. It has Barwick, whose expertise is commerce (specialist subject: TV contracts) assessing football abilities of which he has no experience or professional knowledge, then recommending his choice to the chairman of the FA, Geoff Thompson, a former referee turned career administrator who was once general manager of Doncaster Rovers. Once there is agreement between Barwick and Thompson, their recommendation is considered by a committee that includes well-meaning amateurs such as Roger Burden, the chairman of the Gloucestershire FA, formerly of the Cheltenham and Gloucester Building Society, and Barry Bright, the retired estate agent who is chairman of the Kent FA." Basically a group of jobsworth career administrators with cushty perks to protect. Carry on up the Khyber? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/euro_2008/article2936731.ece

    Jose Enrique

Enrique will prove to be one of our best buys no doubts.
  8. mourinho could outspend anyone to achieve his aims...sven has done well so far after spending wads. most nufc fans aren't expecting that but we know we should be performing a lot better with the squad we have. it hasn't even been the results it's been the performances. Yes you have a point there. But when he was at Porto,he wasnt doing a bad job either and he didnt have a lot of money to spend and yes of course the performances are currently the worst we have ever seen for any season, but I think Big Sam's tactics is also baffling to me.My point is Big Sam wasnt my first choice when Roeder was sacked.I wanted Sven because I believe he would do a better job,and he has already proven that at Manchester City. But right now,Big Sam is our manager and if we dont support him, then its going to be very difficult. at porto he was at the best club in portugal with the pick of brazilians who couldn't get visas for the rest of europe so he pick up a few good players. horrible football to beat celtic in the uefa cup final, within a ferr kick rebound of going out v man utd and dived all over to win the champs lge. put him in charge of liverpool and £30mill to spend and i doubt he'd get close to man utd and arsenal. sven has proven nothing yet Ridiculous last statement. One of the best club cv's there is.
  9. Believe me there are better managers out there for us if it came to it.
  10. I dropped Arteta recently so I could have Elano, Cesc, Bentley in the same mf. Arteta did get a lot of points for me last year..Hasn't quite got it this year.
  11. How diplomatic was he at first when he complained that things took too long or when he commented on the possibility of Keegan coming as Director of Football? Good point and it shows you can't take reactions to things in isolation without comparing them to other events. The things taking too long bit I remember clearly and the 'strategic review' phase...Which I have an inkling was a holding position for MA and CM...And a sensible one at that... I can't put my finger on it but I also got the feeling having just arrived and SA not being their man they didn't really want to spend 40-50m off the bat which is understandable...But which might turn out to be a massive error. TBH I haven't really come to the conclusion if SA himself was self-deluded enough to think that he'd got enough players or players of enough quality..I for one bitched on here for many weeks regarding getting an AM with a strong creative component. In Jan all will be clear.
  12. I wasted 8 manufacturing enough funds to shoehorn Drogba in. >
  13. It was more like £10 million but the main thing is that he got who he wanted. How can you know that ? In his situation in a new postion with a new boss he's bound to be diplomatic imo.
  14. Got injured playing for the Ivory Coast Well thanks for FPL not putting his name in red the wankers... >
  15. Atmosphere is reflected from the team. How the f*** can rack up a mountanious atmosphere when the team is as passive, distant, unwilling, and plain rubbish as that? We were stunned. We play these f****** players wages, they should be trying at the very least, even if attainment is 1% effort should be 110% every game. I do believe they are not confident with the current style and BS has not won them over entirely but that's just me throwing ideas into the air with regards to the root of the problem. what were you expecting today ? for us to put liverpool to the sword and dazzle them with our attacking prowess whilst at the same time frustrating them with our solidity at the back. we were up against things before the whistle even blew. anyone who didn't realise this is living in a fantasy land. so it would have made sense to get behind the side and at least give them some vocal encouragement whilst they took on a difficult task. but no. what do the majority do. boo our players, sings songs degrading our manager, cheer the players in red shirts. it is fucking backwards man. I was ashamed to be in the home crowd today. Bolton beat manure today, we didn't have a go. the losing mentality has to go, if we want to achieve anything. ...and they beat ManU by going back to SA's system. the point is that just because we're not as good as liverpool it doesn't mean a 3-0 defeat is excusable. we have a lot more talent than them, and we should go out and try to win, which we didn't. I totally agree I was just dwelling on the irony. Bolton matched ManU for a good 70% of the game and only really came under the cosh in the last 20 or so.

  17. Allardyce thanked Mort for giving him the most money he'd ever had to spend, or words to that effect. What are you saying really?

    Reality testing.

It is not too hard when you have some continuity, and you are financially backed by the owner. I would rate Big Sam, Hughes and Moyes better than Redknapp if taking them up antoerh level is the yardstick. That is why those are the names in the poll kind sir. All those managers are pretty much as good as each other circumstances permitting.
