Gone off him since he cut his hair.

I wonder about Patrick Barclay sometimes...."O'Neill is a better manager than Allardyce". There was also a worrying assumption by these hacks that Ashley is clueless and might be bad for the club. Nonsense. O'Neill IS a better manager than Allardyce - his trophy record proves it, as does his getting Celtic to a European Final ; Allardyce has won NOWT... O'Neil might have won a cup. But Allardyce bought a right back. Damm right.

Whether you agree with him or not, and I'll keep my opinions to myself on that one, it is hardly a controversial suggestion is it? Patrick Barclay is a twat, though I'd say the certainty with which it was said, particularly by Matt Dickinson, is controversial, at least. Then 'they' got into a discussion about which team had more points....Muppets.

Here here. Pompey and Everton both flirted with relegation and look where they are now. Continuity is the key for us. It's 'hear hear' man. How many times do I have to tell you that? I agree though. My fingers are too fast for me brain.

You're playing the 'fancy it' card rather early fella.

In my opinion what City did this summer is a perfect example of how we ought to go about things as they didn't overspend on a single one of their new players. They did an excellent job of scouting and got top players without forking out £20 million for each of them. This is why their success has been much more legit. Most people didn't know a single one of the players they brought in. Imagine if they had brought in Robinho for £18 million rather than Petrov for £3.5 million, and Van der Vaart for £20 million rather than Elano for £8 million, along with the massive wages these guys would command. Even if they were in the exact same position as they are now, I'm not sure it would have been as enjoyable. It's one of Sven's advantages over Sam, he has a worldwide reputation and contact list. Also Sven is an intense student of the game.

Course they do. You only have to look at Shevchenko and Owen to see how much of their armoury is now missing. Technique is a pre-requisite of any outstanding player usually. However, whilst the likes of Giggs can get away without his pace of old he isnt what the team look for on the break anymore. Ronaldo is. Its also fair to say Giggs was a lot more threatening when he had that electric burst. Him and Kanchelskis were bloody terrifying at times. Hughes and Cantona didnt need to be quick with those two around them. Now Ronaldo has that weapon and Man Utd arent relying on Giggs for that outlet. As a team they still have it though. Its all about complimenting what you have. Arsenal use the electric pace of their fullbacks and the better than average (again not lightning) pace and technique of their wide men. Unfortunately we have a bunch of strollers. Even then their technique isnt the best. Zog is the exception pace wise but he still has a lot to learn. Ideally there has to be one or two players, ideally two with fearful pace. Fergie has started to introduce Nani as well now, another one who is no slouch. Anderson is pretty quick too. Don't think Nani is as quick as Ronaldo but the movement of Rooney, Tevez, Giggs, Anderson (or Scholes when fit) and Ronaldo is great to watch. They all have top class technique, which is the main thing too. Fergie has always used pace, from Danny Wallace onwards. So has Wenger. They usually have decent overlapping fullbacks too. Evra, Clichy, Eboue and Sagna are bloody quick. Still think we missed Beye yesterday in terms of covering for the centre halves never mind going forward. He's a quick lad himself (not lightning). Beye has to play for me. Good passer in forward postions as well. Has been a bit suspect but imo it takes 4/5 months min to get used to the speed of the PL.

How do you know till they've played for us for a period of time? Call it insight. barton havent done to well the last 2 games has he? He really isn't fit yet imo.

Write Owen off at your peril 2Gay. I'm not writing him off, but he was a lot more dangerous when he had that blistering pace. Correct? He's just back from a career threatening inj. Correct? If you count May which was six months ago recent then yes. He needs more football. He'll never be back to his peak I agree, but I'm not saying anything about him till the end of the season. I owe him that courtesy. blueyes.gif He's look a lot better playing for England mind, obviously due to the fact he's playing with better players, can play his usual role, on the shoulder etc blueyes.gif Needs a feeder forward a Sheringham type.

How do you know till they've played for us for a period of time? Call it insight. Load of shite. Is he in your sig cause you think he's rubbish? He looks different, i thought it was Vicky Gomersall from Sky Sports News. They've both got very long elongated faces easy mistake to make.
