Newcastle United Vs Swansea - 17/12/11 - Pre Match Thread
Alberto2005 replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
This is reality nufc>>> no show no offensive player good(only ba) team bad offensive kick and rush Pardew is stupid coach vs norwich example dominated nufc You're an idiot. 1.Cabaye is an excellent passer and rarely plays 'kick and rush' 2.Ben Arfa had a good game against City, but he didn't have a 'good' game vs United because aside from the penalty incident and a deflected pass, he was quiet. You say Vs Chelsea he was not good or bad, however he contributed nothing in that half which I deem as bad. 3.What is your point with Tevez/Mascherano? -

If one had to play it's Colo. -
Shame they're having such a bumpy start, the last CL place is up for grabs for a team like Athletic. Muniain

Perch? Obertan? Gosling? Campbell/Ireland/Kuqi? Kuqi was a stop gap. Gosling and Campbell were free transfers and Ireland was only a loan signing. Admittedly Perch and Obertan have been poor, I supposed it depends on the market. I don't know which scout is looking at Tomkins, probably not Carr so may not be great. What do you mean by that? I meant I don't know how good our other staff are? Who's watching Tomkins play this season? Is it from Pardew's 'sources'? Obviously if we had Carr watching him regular then I'd be more inclined to back it despite having the perception he's shit as Carr has scouted almost perfectly. However it seems he's probably just scouring the foreign market so my initial reaction of 'If we like the look of him I won't judge till he's played' may be wide of the mark #AlanOliver. See I just don't buy this. Are we to believe all our good signings came because of Carr and all the not so good ones didn't? He's our chief scout, I can't see why he wouldn't be involved in any of our signings. Not necessarily, but it's clear he's scouting abroad and so it's highly likely he spotted those ones first. I don't know who scouts the rest, maybe it's a combination of Carr/Pardew/other sources.

Doesn't look good on paper, but I'll back the scouts/staff until they start making poor signings.

From SMB "Know nothing about him. However, after some research I found this: Incredibly, he manages to make skinning 3 defenders and curling one in with the outside of his boot, look shit. -
Why the fuck would Real want Lampard.

Best is probably a perfect squad player, not good enough to start and not good enough to leave for a better club meaning he's likely to stay even if he's bench warming. -

Newcastle United Vs Swansea - 17/12/11 - Pre Match Thread
Alberto2005 replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
Dicked Liverpool pretty much for instance. Really? I didn't see the full game but Vorm made some excellent saves. I think sometimes when an underdog gives a superior team a good run for their money there's some weird perception that they deserve something but in reality the better side usually deserve to win it's just the weak side have exceeded peoples expectations. Our game vs Man U is a good example, I imagine most fans thought we deserved a draw because we were underdogs, played very well and defended brilliantly but in reality we should have lost comfortably. -
I don't think anyone would have a problem with him been replaced by Best/Shola upfront, however he should be a cert starter with the likes of Obertan playing piss every week.

Yeah but 4 of those 7 games were lost with 2 or more goals margins, admittedly the draw against Liverpool was impressive and I watched the game against Wolves and they were much the better team. Apart from those 2 games doesn't seem like they've come close to victory regardless of performance. -

I'm not really sure how you can lose almost every away game and say your away form 'isn't too bad'.
