I'm glad someones confident we can beat Chelsea away.

Are you able to order games? I'm not subscribed to Setanta but I'd like to watch the Fulham game.

Or if Jenas hadn't missed an open goal at Boro about two minutes before they equalised. Or if the officials had been halfway competent and seen that equaliser was scored with a hand. Or if Shay hadn't made a totally uncharacteristic error to let Norwich back into the game at SJP. Or if we'd put away one of the shedful of chances we had against Spurs. That's without mentioning the Dyer shit. We had an incredible amount of bad luck in those four games, which was what made it even more sickening when the fat mong started mashing the panic button. I don't think we can say those games were the reason he got the sack, if we'd have won those games it would have just been delaying the inevitable, the team we had that season would have come 5th at highest and we all know what Shepherd thought of that position the previous season. At that stage after a succession of successful years i think the board began to take our success for granted and didn't actually respect what Robson had actually done, if you're going to sack someone with the caliber of Bobby then you need a damn well good replacement if you're going to continue never mind progress on to the next level, we didn't do that, we got someone in who wasn't capable of repeating or even coming close to half the job the legend had done just years before. Much better

I saw it on Skysports news He had a sign behind the guy speaking, he told him to "carry on" but whoever was taking the briefing said he wouldn't continue with him stood behind so he left

Think we might sneak this one. -
He got sacked because of his own success, he raised the expectations to title challengers and the excellent job he did ironically cost him in the end.

So it could be better rather than worse for them not much has actually changed as egg head only had 5% and the fella buying them was the vast majority share holder already I always assumed Magnusson was just the front man who gave the consortium some level of legitimacy...cos this Gudmundsson, while rich, is a convicted criminal? Whatever happened to that fit and proper persons stuff. I don't think you're in a position to criticize the legitimacy of an owner Nope, not really. However I am in a position to criticize the disproportianate media representation of Shinawatra compared to other shady characters like Gudmundsson and Gaydamak. What have they been found guilty of?

2-0 Arsenal, Bendtner, brilliant Arsenal move.

Sickening news.

It's possible but a team with more quality will take them to pieces, whether it's the next round or the round after that

Call me old fashioned, but I don't get all this "there doesn't need to be any contact for it to be a foul" bollocks. Sorry, but if someone slides along on the floor next to me without touching me, I don't feel the need to fling myself onto the floor. That's what used to be called a "dive". The bloke was nowhere near making contact with Gerrard tonight, he didn't impede him whatsoever, in fact it was somewhat Rozenthal-esque except that Jerome wanted to score whereas Gerrard only wanted to do a belly-flop. Would you be complaining if it was one of our players? I think not. No, I wouldn't be complaining, but I'd be honest enough to admit it was a blatant dive and I'd be a bit embarrassed also. The Rozehnal/Cameron was totally different, Gerrard knocked the ball past player and then left his leg in the way whereas Cameron anticipated Rozehnal's misjudgment.

Of course I'm not making a bet! I'm just trying to say that the odd's on Liverpool winning the Champions League are pretty big for a good reason! Just because they won it a few years ago doesn't mean they'll win it again. They'll get knocked out by a better team. Maybe this round, maybe next. They're not good enough to win it this year. They're head and shoulders better than us but they aren't the best in the continent by a million miles. The best team doesn't necessarily win it though do they, as Liverpool proved. Exactly. A one-off I can deal with... Do you think Liverpool will win it this season, yes or no? If not, why not? But if they got to the final twice it wasn't a one off, i believe in getting luck within a match but to get lucky over a group stage and then a series of matches leading up to the final doesn't work out. The whole competition is set up for secure passage for the top sides into the last 8. So whoever gets Liverpool in the next round have got a "secure passage"?
-
They could win it, of course they could. How likely is it though? Greece came from nowhere and won Euro 2004, Denmark didn't even qualify for Euro 1992 and won it. Upsets happen. But can you see Liverpool winning the Champions League this season? 2 Finals in 3 years isn't luck Actually it's a competition riddled with luck. So what makes you so sure they won't win it I don't have to be sure they do. But what makes you so sure they wont? It's nothing to do with me it's all about them...
