So what makes you so sure they won't win it I don't have to be sure they do. But what makes you so sure they wont?

Of course I'm not making a bet! I'm just trying to say that the odd's on Liverpool winning the Champions League are pretty big for a good reason! Just because they won it a few years ago doesn't mean they'll win it again. They'll get knocked out by a better team. Maybe this round, maybe next. They're not good enough to win it this year. They're head and shoulders better than us but they aren't the best in the continent by a million miles. The best team doesn't necessarily win it though do they, as Liverpool proved.

Liverpool won't win it. Agree. Finishing second means they're guaranteed a 'biggie' in the next round. Real, Inter, Milan etc. If Besiktas and Marseille can beat them, the big lads will batter them. blueyes.gif There are 3 better teams than them in the PL never mind the CL. Jason Koumas wouldn't improve our side, he was a very good championship player but hasn't hit it off in the Premiership despite playing for a very poor side, if we have aspirations of getting into Europe we must be looking at a better quality of player. Fair enough, I think he's been pretty impressive this year in the Prem despite playing for a crap team, and he could provide some forward drive to our midfield at a bargain price. Anyway, this thread was about January, sorry! I think playing in a poor side helps him look better than he actually is, don't get me wrong he's a decent player but he's nothing better than we already have.

Probable, good appointment if it goes through but i think Mourinho and Lippi were better candidates.

On the cards IMO, i never got the feeling he genuinely wanted the job, he doesn't seem the type who is prepared to wait months between games and would be much better going back into club football where he won't be short of offers.

Makes me laugh how the fans think they know better, Benitez has his own ideas of how to get the best out of his players during the course of the season, he did the exact same thing when he won the league with Valencia, he won't change.
