Well Douglas himself said the striker was a similar age to Gameiro and had a similar scoring record, as well as being of similar style. Plus all the other little clues. I think it's a reasonable assumption that it could be him. Oddly Benzema and Gameiro have similar goal scoring records last season and are a year apart in age? Not that I think it's remotely going to be him. I think we'd probably have to be living in dream land to think it'd be him unfortunately.

The problem is as good as Joey has been for us this season (I'd like him to stay for at least squad depth) you just know he's one step away from doing something stupid again.. I can see why our owner doesn't want to take the risk with him.. especially as he's not young.

4 first team signings, or 2 first team signings with 2 exciting prospects signings who would be pushing on to be first team players would be decent window imo. We defiantly need a goal scoring striker (not cole) and a younger backup for Ben Arfa to play in the hole behind our main striker, because at the moment we don't know how he will play next season after the injury and I'd rather not have to rely on any of current strikers should he have another set back. Regardless of how much money we have to spend we will never sort out all our problems in one window, so it would be a decent step forward for next season.

Normally the opposition doesn't suit us tbf. Does the opposition have to suit us fr us to play with a bit of pace and movement? It helps that Wales are pigshit too I suppose. Oh I'm not defending them man, just saying that normally we slip into the same slow, defensive mode of most international teams. It's often even worse when you're playing a less talented team because they're just trying to make things hard. We need to do this more often regardless of who we're playing. We look so much better for it. I think your midfield looks a lot more balanced now which always helps.
