HBA should be playing on the left anyway, and Jonas on the right. Just because Jonas has been playing on the left for so long doesnt mean he can't do it on the right.
-
Thing is though Dave, if you slightly modify the safe 4-4-2 it looks a lot more threatening Krul Simpson Williamson Colo Santon Jonas Tiote Cabaye HBA Ba Cisse We won't see it though, even though HBA's proved time and time again his work rate is better than Obertan's as well as being way more effective going forward
-
Long term I think he might struggle for not really having a position.
-
He's comfortably a better RM than Obertan like. Man U at home.
-
Thing is though, with the purse strings being held so tightly and players brought in as much for their contract situations and low prices are we really gonna be in a position to choose the type of football we play? We could set out to play good football next season and the exact same thing could happen, I don't blame Pardew one bit btw, he's pretty much rubbing everyone's noses in it this season considering how well he's doing.
-
Pardew's said himself that he didn't expect Ba to be as good as he has been. We started off the season by concentrating on being difficult to break down and managed to get a few results. Once Ba started scoring there's been no reason to change the strategy as it's kept us in the top 7 all season.

Ok, so Raylor's first choice. Obertan's still ahead of Ben Arfa in the pecking order though based on his 'work rate'. It's laughable.

The height of Wise compared to everyone else in that photo

Remember that. It's depressing that the Obertan/HBA situation has gone full circle and we're back in the exact same situation. Ridiculous. Especially when you consider the relative performances of the two. What did Obertan do to keep himself in the team? Scored a goal on the counter after coming on as a sub. What did Ben Arfa do to keep himself in the team? Numerous assists and goals with much less playing time than Obertan. What did Obertan do to lose his place? Looked hopeless in almost all his performances this season, with the exception of Blackburn at home and Stoke away. What did Ben Arfa do to lose his place? A bad half against Blackburn and bad game against Brighton when our entire team looked clueless going forward. They're not being treated fairly, it's rank bad management.

you only needed the last word of that post

thank fuck for that, we missed him massively

Aye. We got well and truly beaten by a fantastic team who on the night would have beaten any team in Europe. s*** happens. I don't think the result matters that much, it was a 1 off. So was Norwich and so was Fulham. Err.. Turn your sarcasm radar on. -
yeah i suppose he could do a decent job, he really was awful for the mackems though, look how many points they've picked up in his absence. If I was a Wolves fan I'd be looking for a long term appointment even if it means going down this year, they're a yo yo club anyway, may as well set themselves up for the future than delaying the inevitable, look what Swansea and Norwich have done by appointing young promising managers.
-
Bruce would be a terrible appointment for Wolves.

Defies belief doesn't it? Considering what happened last season AND the fact we've already beaten them at their place this season. -
good debate and intelligent points...well done, give yourself a pat on the back And we don't have squat to say when they play poorly atm. because there is no one to come in and do a better job. That's bollocks. Santon was kept out of the team for half a season and Ben Arfa still can't get a game.
-
simply no excuse for not getting three points against these lot like, not with the squad we'll have available
-
Hyperbole is fucking ridiculous.
-
why does this fucking Routledge debate keep cropping up? they're both shite man one of them isnt our concern anymore, unfortunately one very much is
-
Lawro's prediction, 0-8
-
He's shite. The biggest problem with him though is Pardew doesn't fancy HBA, if that's the case we should bring someone in he does like the look of because Obertan's never doing anything here. Has the potential but doesnt have any balls or a brain.
-
You're probably right but there's a bigger picture to be considered. As I've said elsewhere I'll accept that Raylor offers something HBA doesn't, being able to defend reasonably well. But Obertan? Nah, sorry, not having it. He's the very definition of a nothing footballer.

Ok, when the alternative is Raylor I'm willing to grant there's a decision to be made. But Obertan? He offers absolutely nothing.
