  1. Personally I think that's far too hard to be swinging at the ball when your opponent is already on the floor and can't get out of the way. I'm sure part of the law on fouls is based on the offender being in control, and that wasn't controlled,it was wild. The way Rooney goes for it is based on Colo tackling him and him being pissed off, not trying to get the ball, that could result in a really serious injury to Colo if one of them connected. Speaks volumes about Colo that he just got on with it,every single one of the Man u team would have been rolling around doing the wavey hand if that had been them, and Rooney more so than everyone else. Also good to see HBA sticking up for his team mates, much like Ba earlier in the season was fighting for Krul.
  2. You thought Ba was fantastic? Low standards then. We all see different things mate, he worked his bollocks off, particularly at the end when we were down to 10,he also stuck away a massive pressure penalty. I don't think cabaye was worth an 8 but each to their own
  3. Still travelling home, bloody M62's been a nightmare. Anyway, cannot express how much I enjoyed that. We matched them in the first half and defended like absolute stallions in the second and got a bit of luck which we deserved. Ref was an absolute disgrace from start to finish, gave them absolutely everything. Colo, Krul, Saylor, Guthrie, Ba all fantastic, well done lads.
  4. AVB's voice. Seriously man, stop trying so hard to appear relaxed, 'ooh check me out i'm that self confident I put absolutely minimal effort into vibrating my vocal chords'. He sounds like an 80 year old who's had a night on the strongbow and smokes 60 a day and he's 34,so bloody irritating.
  5. The Ben Arfa thread's the result of a couple of wums.
  6. I'll say it again just for kicks.....Carroll was genuinely injured, there was nothing cloak and dagger about it unless you believe part of the deal was for Liverpool to 'pretend' he was injured for a month after paying 35m for him.
  7. The real silver lining is that it's just a back spasm and not anything more serious. Still though, fucks sake man.
  8. That plus steve wraith tweeting Danny Simpson this afternoon to say he hopes he's captain tomorrow, which at the time seemed like lunacy but would make sense if Colo's injured (not giving Simpson the armband, that it would be going to someone else)
  9. My god I hope that's not true, been so positive about this even in the face of Tiote,Best not making it and Guthrie being doubtful. If we've got Perch at centre half it's gonna be back to the yearly bumming
  10. That was my immediate reaction when I heard he was waiting until the end of the season, I think he'll stay if we finish top 6/7.
  11. there's never a waterstones in sunderland is there?
  12. A five-year contract is a gamble the club shouldn't have taken, imo. lol - people have a go at the club for spending money and have a go at them for not spending it. You win some you lose some, that's life. Alternatively you can be realistic and see wages as a necessary expenditure and 5 year contracts as the 3 year contracts they actually are in todays game. I'm all in favour of the five year contracts but that's not the issue here imo, the issue is that we chose to pay a highly injury prone player with questionable recent history to be a member of our squad on the basis that we didn't have to pay a transfer fee. There's undoubtedly many, many players with better fitness records we could have brought in instead had we been willing to pay a fee.
  13. because he's out of his depth?
  14. Howay man, the lad's got a horrendous injury record and he's had the operation on the place that's troubled him the most. He may well get back to full fitness and play many games for us but the odds were stacked in favour of this happening before we ever signed him, for nowt. Would you have preferred if we'd stayed out of the deal and allowed him to sign for Liverpool for reduced terms? Same question to Colocho. I'd have preferred signing someone without the injury record, whether that involves a transfer fee or not.
  15. He's coming back from injury obviously but i've not seen anything to suggest he'll be as good as Guthrie has recently.

  17. Real shame for Guthrie if he misses out as well, but is there really that much between him and Gosling? Guthrie looks a lot more comfortable in possession this season to me.
  18. Guthrie injured/doubtful as well? Gosling then? Getting grimmer by the second this.
  19. Think we're handling this correctly to be honest. He'll simply never play for a club as good as ours if he moves and that's not over-emphasising how good we are, I just don't rate him at all. If he wants to go to west brom for a few extra grand then good luck to him, he won't be missed. I know that sounds harsh on the lad since he's part of our well functioning defence but there does come a point where the club have got to admit they can get better for the money and ultimately for the squad.

    Hatred?

They can protect all they like, you will get picked off all over next game at the SOL. At present no home fan can get anywhere near because you have a walkway from the metro straight to the South Stand, this is about to change. You've obviously never seen the protection(or lack of it) that Sunlun fans get from Central Station to the Sports Direct Arena Obviously living down south you don't attend home games, seems a familiar story on this forum. stop embarrassing yourself man, if you've got nowt better to talk about don't say anything at all.
  22. anyone know of any decent promo's for signing up at the minute?
