can never understand why people go round telling perfect strangers not to get their hopes up about transfers
-
This is definitely possible - I won't believe it until he is announced at a Press Conference with KK at SJP..... it is possible and nor will i believe it until confrimed, i'm cautiously optimistic though it does seem like there's another meeting happening today

for anyone wondering thats a croation guy basically saying that the deal wasnt scrapped it was just postponed until today, as iceman blue said yesterday

Can you imaging Mr Fallows trying to prove his worth to KK? KK "So what do you do then Dave?" DF "Oh, er, i watch videos, yeah, like this you see?" KK "Yeah i think i do...and people have the nerve to call Terry useless" DF "Don't worry, my wages are paid for by the nash, please don't sack me!" Even though we have immediately appointed a replacement? Mike Crompton - DVD analyst. 'right then lads, there will be blood's coming out soon, thats pretty good, its all based around daniel day lewis, and he won the oscar for best actor for it so its a pretty safe bet. best film went to the ridiculosuly over-rated no country for old men, to be honest i think the academy just thought they'd better give an award to the coen brothers for making good films for so long, its good like, but i enjoyed reading the book a lot more, anyway the dvd's out soon. steven, alvin and the chipmunks has just come out, only 12.99 at hmv, even you can afford that and its right up your street'

Don't you get the impression that the money is there, but we're not willing to pay over our own evaluation for players? They're not like Shepherd, who would probably say something like "Sod it, offer him £120k per week!" :S 5,4,3,2....

oh shut up killjoy, its only speculation. it doesnt hurt, if you dont wanna know dont read. if you only wanna read concrete just look at newsnow for 'modric signs for nufc' or 'modric doesnt sign for nufc' concerning the most recent developments regarding the bid, where's NE5?
-
i have to say that its an optimistic page to look at, all talk of modric signing and owen renewing his deal, looks like we might have quite an exciting summer

Good read this... Aye well done Matthew Coker, got our situation, formations & players nailed on 1000000000 times better than any newspaper! Tell you what though, after reading that then coming back on here my eyes nearly fell out of their sockets, horrible colours. and how small was that bloody text for gods sake! i cant see!

There was a chance we could have got relegated without him in his first season here imo. I think those 2 posts prove quite conclusively that he has paid his fee back in spades, despite being injured a lot. Makes you wonder what we could have had for our money otherwise. No doubt people will still say we shouldn't have bought him and slate the club for the "debt" ......... Wonder what their reaction would have been if we'd missed the boat and lost a damn sight more in revenue through being relegated ? Staggering. Totally hyopthetical, had we not signed Owen we would no doubt have signed someone else. indeed, some sort of player who wouldn't have appeased the fans no doubt, a nobody player with the 2m left in the transfer budget maybe, if it was Chris Mort having his way. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z261/pakuorg/fail.jpg -
whether he comes or not, if there's any truth in us being happy to pay 16-20 million for one player then i'm optimistic

i'm not being funny but i genuinely think thats his brain ticking over when he jogs slowly. when forced to do things quickly he looks a classier player on the most part, i.e. little bits of skill in midfield to evade players and the perfect example is his goal against spurs, i'm just not sure you can coach a brain into someone, see titsup bungle for evidence of that -
sorry i haven't read the whole thread but does anyone know how long he might be looking at? considering the last few weeks i'd be sad to see him go down now, as an nufc fan of course, as a human being i think he deserves all he gets if guilty, but naturally being an nufc fan is more important than human moral issues

i've gone for rooney 1-1 at 29/1 ronaldo 2-3 at 101/1 only bet that came off last night was liverpool to be winning at half time and not win the game at 10/1, ridiculously good odds i thought also had torres 1-1, which is why the cunt missed the one on one

Wonder if it's entered Keegan's head to try and bring Bellamy back and play him instead of Martins in this 433? Not saying it's neccessarily a good idea, given his current fitness and general mentalness, but I bet he'd walk back here from West Ham and might well thrive under Keegan. It would put Shearer's nose right of joint though! I was joking but I think he would come back. I wouldn't pay what West Ham payed like. I knew you were joking, but it just got me thinking about him. I probably wouldn't pay that either, and don't necessarily think we should sign him at all, but hypothetically speaking, putting a fit and firing Bellamy in place of Martins in the current team would improve us dramatically imo. oh noes, you just pushed this thread into ten pages of martins arguing Sorry, I didn't mean to! haha, its ok, fwiw i'm not a big fan of either, i'd rather hold on to oba given the choice -

How much money have we lost because he's not been on the pitch though? How much more revenue could we have accumulated over the past 3 years if we instead spent £5m less on someone like Anelka? dont worry, keegan will be shipping him out and replacing him with someone else who can play in a 4-4-2, he'll have been on here and read your post about him only being effective in a 4-3-3 and taken it all on board -
i think we need to up our game a bit to win here, our passing and movement hasnt been as fluent against pompey or the mackems, i'm gonna go for a draw but i wouldnt be surprised if we won it if we get back to spurs levels
-
do you really believe that was a good save? or a bad finish? martins put his head down and blasted it, didnt look up to assess where he'd be best putting it, or if there was a pass on, just blindly hit it straight at the keeper. he didnt force gordon to do anything other than come out and narrow the angle which is bog standard goal keeping, i could have done that. i think if shearer was in that situation the chances of a caressed finish into the bottom corner would have been neigh on 0. What - like all Geordies are delusional? All Jews are tight arsed? All Muslims are terrorists? Get back to the gist of the thread man.. relax, his a christian and we all know christians like to make sweeping generalisations. i think if shearer had been in that position the chances are he would have scored, i'm not sure what your point is to be honest
-
i've gone for torres first goal, 1-1, 23/1
